T.O. puts the loss on his shoulders, think anyone else is willing to do that?

Aikman (may have been Buck) mentioned it. I am going home for lunch, so I will go back and write down exactly what he said. Of course, if someone else has recorded the game, feel free to write down what was said.

It was Buck who mentioned it - that's why I have a hard time believing it's a rule. Aikman said you can't use the ball as a prop and I trust Aikman WAY more than Buck.

I hope you are being sarcastic, ... you must forget Jackie Smith's drop in the EZ, in the Super Bowl.

Heck, Owens' drop in the Giants game was worse.

The one yesterday was not a gimme catch, ... looking over your shoulder never is, .. in football or catching a fly ball over your shoulder in the outfield.

Those are alway difficult catches to make.

It is one that he should catch, I thought he should have caught it because that is what he is paid to do, but I see how he didn't.

The one against the Giants I will never understand. (Or the one Keyshawn dropped against us, .. or Jackie Smiths)

Big time players make big time playes when the game is on the line. Enough of the excuses for TO. Who cares about Keyshawn or Jackie Smith who by the way was roasted by fans for dropping that 1 pass. TO needs to get the job done that is why he has been brought to Dallas not to drop easy balls and yes that was a pass that big time players make.

Romo to TO:

"Sorry for putting that one right in the breadbasket, I know those can be difficult to hang onto. Next time I'll try to throw it so hard that it lodges in your enormous mouth."

What makes you believe that TO is sincere?

Everything he does is with an agenda and is an act. Does anyone know who the real TO is? Does TO even know who the real TO is?

Who know...who cares.

The bottom line is he "got" a penalty. That really is the big issue here.

No, I didn't forget the Jackie Smith drop, but in reality, although he should have caught it, it was a very poor pass from Roger. Even Roger took the blame for that one...

I said it's as bad a drop as has ever been because it came at a crucial time in the game, it could not have been thrown any better and it ended up costing us the game.

I played WR for many years and that WAS a gimmee catch. He had to work hard to drop that one. He was in his hands, then in them again, then again, then he dropped it... It was bad...

I said it was as poor a drop as has ever been because it was... technically... just a very poor effort...

TO got flagged for laying down on the GROUND...

And ESPN this morning said that it was taunting. And yet, TO was poking fun at himself for the 'sleeping in the meetings'.... Was he taunting himself?

Aikman even mentioned this about lying down, and he also laughed... Buck and Aikman looked like they actually enjoyed it...

Marvin Harrison spiked the ball right in the face of a Patriots corner last night... And he got flagged... Is dancing the salsa around the ball taunting and using the ball as a prop, or is that just plain fun?

Is the sky falling down for them?

How about the ESPN commercial with Chad Johnson and the ESPN crew coming up with new dance celebrations? Is it problem for ESPN when TO does it, but not Chad Johnson? The irony about that whole commercial is what does the ESPN commentator suggest? That he lie down and do some sort of shake...

I don't even think the ESPN commentators or Chad Johnson knew that 'lying down' was a penalty...

Means, I just dont understand how that missed opportunity can be justified and I am not being critical of your comment, just disagreeing with it constructively, hence the smiley at the end.

The man should caught the ball. He believes he is the best receiver in the game and I have to think that Harrison, Johnson...err we dont even have to go to the "upper echelon" receivers so scratch that, Hurd, Crayton and Glenn catch that ball.

What are you talking about? The league conducted orientation meetings with the players during the preseason to let then know exactly where the boundries had been set on celebrations.

Owens knew that he would get flagged, he just didn't care.

So was it taunting or lying down on the ground?

Didn't Marvin Harrison know the rules for taunting? He SPIKED the ball in the face of a PATRIOTS cornerback? Now that is not only taunting, but it's unsportsmanlike conduct...

And you people are making it seem as if TO is Satan for lying down on the ground poking fun at himself for falling asleep in meetings? What Harrison did is WORSE than what TO did....

When Demarcus Ware ran the fumble back for a touchdown awhile back and one of the DC defense started pretending like he was giving him CPR, was that not 'excessive celebration'? Did that defender not know that Vanderjagt has a 'weak leg'?

How many people have been flagged for excessive celebration this year besides TO?

DO you people even realize that the flag was a non-factor... We stopped the Commanders on the NEXT DRIVE, totally nullifying any effects it had...

Put things in their proper perspective... This moral high-horse regarding TO is just plain ridiculous.. I don't see anyone crying when he stood on the star as a redemption for what he did when he was SF....

Receivers drop passes, ... running backs, QB's & receivers fumble, ... linemen hold, ... DB's get called for interference, ... kick returners drop kicks, ... FG's get blocked, QB's overthrow receivers.

Anyone who has ever watched football realizes these thing happen.

Maybe they shouldn't but they do.

The blasting of Owens for missing a catch is amusing, because it is the same posters that blast him for anything and everything.

Get on him for the EZ celebration, that was bad.

But drops are just a part of the game along with all of the other things I mention above.

It is very unfortunate that a pass was dropped, it should have been caught, but a pass was overthrown to Glenn and nobody is blasting the QB, nor should they.

Blasting Owens for every single thing he does or does not do is getting real tired like Democrats blasting Bush for every single thing he does or does not do.

Pick your battles, recognize when someone does good and then your opinion will be respected more when you question them if they don't perform.

Why are you arguing about a rule that every player was told about? It's a rule. Period. It's not open for debate.

And as an aside, what on earth does the fact that the penalty didn't impact the game have to do with the fact that it was a stupid self involved premeditated act?

So Owens knew, when he did it, that it wouldn't have an impact on the game?

We got lucky. It didn't impact the game.

Next time it might.

So why do they get away with the Lambeau leep? Or have they done away with it and i didn't realize it? I still see guys "High 5ing" each other while jumping in the air every week.
This gets the fans involved, and the NFL loves that. Would be amazed if they ever ban the "Leap".

Sometimes he needs defended. Sometimes he needs bashed.

This is bashing time. He destroyed the team's momentum.

You are right, the next time it might hurt the team.

I don't particularly care for any EZ celebrations but our society had embraced them and love them so the NFL lets them do them.

The real thing that sucks is that the rules are written so that if Owens would not have used the ball it would have been OK.

That is stupid.

I wish they would just hand the ball to the referee like Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, OJ, Gale Sayers, etc.
