T.O. puts the loss on his shoulders, think anyone else is willing to do that?

Right :D ... far be it from me to suggest that anyone has any prior hate for Owens, or that they are singling him out in any way today.

Left the forum ?? You're kidding, right ? :laugh2:

There were only a few that just unreasonably hate on TO no matter what, and yes, they have taken a hiatus or simply been less vocal. Most everyone else praises when praise is deserved, and bashes when that is in order. I see noone just irrationally defamating TO. I do see some irrationally jumping on those that are displeased with him, and claiming it's due solely to prior convictions or ridiculous "hating." If he had caught that ridiculously easy ball, there would be no bashing. Thus, no irrational hate. He's getting hammered for something he actually did, and with good reason.

Sorry, but I still see posters here every day that are always against TO, every day. They live for him to do something that they can point out and say, (like they always do) "it's always something with that guy."

They are still here, trust me. I talk with them every day.

Anyways, .. you played ball ? Right?

We all know that should have been a catch, it was a catchable pass and one that is caught each week.

But you know that any time, in any sport that you are running and looking back over your head and shoulder, it is a difficult catch.

In this case he brought the ball in and it hit his left shoulder and not his chest. If it hits his chest I think he makes the catch. It hit his left shoulder and bounced out sideways. Thus the drop.

His drop against the Giants was a "ridiculously easy ball".

I agree with most of what you say, but look at some of the other threads. There are some on here who say the ONLY REASON we lost is because of TO's error. Wrong. It was a big factor, but so was the two point decision, the low kick/blocked field goal, the 3 dropped interceptions, the 11 penalties and the give up run to Barber on 3rd and long with the game very much still in question. TO gets extra bashing because he's TO, but a lot happened before and after his drop that also led to the loss. TO shouldn't get a pass, but neither should the rest of the guility parties - and there are plenty of them on this team.

Bashing TO for dropping the pass is fine, it was a dumb drop that should have been caught.

Bashing the TD celebration is dumb IMO, since I didnt see no moral outrage when DWare got the same penalty a few weeks ago.

As for the celebration being premeditated I dont think it was, he got up and started to walk off and then layed back down. He thought of it right then.

TD celebration: Stupity & Ignorance
Dropped Pass: That happens

I betcha he comes back with a big game this week; after that, who knows... Undisciplined! He competes for his own desires! "I love me some me"...

The ball CAN NOT be used as a PROP. What's so hard about that? If he throws the ball to the ref, then lays down he gets away with it. Heck, they let the Packers jump into the stands.

He still would have gotten penalized. The announcers said that he couldn't leave his feet either. So if you jump into the stands, isn't that leaving your feet?

No question, that was one of the biggest drops T.O. has ever had, but at least he man'd up about it. As for his celebration, I died laughing over it, in the end, it didn't even hurt the team, since the Skins bobbled the kickoff at the 35.

I wish more people would come out and take the blame, instead of blaming others. T.O. was pissed off, you could tell. I know he'll come around. The defense is what worries me. EVERY SINGLE time a ball goes deep, I think it's going to be a catch or a PI. When will that feeling ever go away? :bang2:

okay its my fault

I hope you are being sarcastic, ... you must forget Jackie Smith's drop in the EZ, in the Super Bowl.

Heck, Owens' drop in the Giants game was worse.

The one yesterday was not a gimme catch, ... looking over your shoulder never is, .. in football or catching a fly ball over your shoulder in the outfield.

Those are alway difficult catches to make.

It is one that he should catch, I thought he should have caught it because that is what he is paid to do, but I see how he didn't.

The one against the Giants I will never understand. (Or the one Keyshawn dropped against us, .. or Jackie Smiths)

Thanks for bringing up Jackie Smith's drop...what's next discussion on The Catch?

OK. Maybe I'm wrong. I can't read all the threads, they depress me.

Nevermind.

Thursday night my wallet was stolen, friday it was recovered after the ****** who stole it tried to access some porn sites with my credit cards thursday night. Then.....sunday. But the trooper is coming to give me back my wallet. So maybe things are looking up.

Personally, I blame the loss solely on Ernest McGill, the ****** who stole my wallet. My lucky wallet would have made all the difference.

No, I didn't forget the Jackie Smith drop, but in reality, although he should have caught it, it was a very poor pass from Roger. Even Roger took the blame for that one...

I said it's as bad a drop as has ever been because it came at a crucial time in the game, it could not have been thrown any better and it ended up costing us the game.

I played WR for many years and that WAS a gimmee catch. He had to work hard to drop that one. He was in his hands, then in them again, then again, then he dropped it... It was bad...

I said it was as poor a drop as has ever been because it was... technically... just a very poor effort...

In time long long ago I too was a wide receiver (now I'm just wide) and Jackie's drop was a much easier ball to catch.

We'll have to agree to disagree... the Smith pass was a bit behind him...

This one attempted to snuggle up to Owens mitts like a newborn babe, only to be shunned away like a Lombardi in Philly...

Dude, everyone says he should have caught it, even Owens, .. get over it.

He made a great 3rd down catch on the left sidelines where he finger caught a pass thrown too far and then tip-toed both feet to get the first down.

His TD pass was another great catch that he had, .. got hit and bobbled, then caught it again.

He is a great WR, we benefit from him being on the team, he dropped a pass, .. move on.

Sage wisdom. By the way, did anyone else see Marvin drop an easier pass yesterday. Receivers drop passes. It happens. Even to the great one's. One play did not cost us that game. There were many opportunities to put them away yesterday. Numerous penalties, several interceptions should have been made. Hell the safety was a bad call. The blocked field goal. The end guy punches outside but protects inside. And pay has nothing to do with it. All of their jobs are to make plays.
