I know my response missed the mark of this thread but I just can't help reliving the Hail Mary when its brought up. :)

And yeah, its definitely about the game and not about the TD celebration though I will give props to a few players along the way who have demonstrated some creativity in their coreography.

White Shoes dancing...
Emmitt Thomas high-step...
Earnest Givens shakin...
The player/team who would "roll the dice" for seven...

None of the above were offensive to me. Kind of made me chuckle.

Also worth mentioning are the celebrations that come back to bite.

Godwin Turk who dislocated his shoulder with an overly enthusiastic spike (hilarious!)...
Martin Gramatica's sprained knee as a result of his ridiculous celebrations...

And lastly I always though Billy Joe DuPree looked like an idiot doing his little over the shoulder spike. The guy is what, 6'6" of power? and he chooses this cutesy little finesse move as his trademark celebration. Poor choice.

As long as these act do not cost us 15 yards I don't really care. I watch football for the game of football not to watch an idiot dancing around. If you consider that entertainment then that is you the game itself is what I tune in to watch.

You can't eject a player for a celebration like that

I know, but I wouldn't put it past the NFL to try against TO, only because he's a Cowboy now. Just being a little negative sarcastic against the NFL. :)

That will cost us 15 for using a prop (news paper) and if your talking mid-field that will also cost us 15 yards. (Celebrations only in the endzone). I know 1 thing 15 yards will p*ss off Bill

QB Jay Schrader who gave himself a concussion head slamming the back of the endzone. Now that was funny

Was it Jay...I thought it was Gus Forgotte. (mispell intentional):)

On the original topic.

I wish he would do one of the three.

1. Just hand the ball to the Ref

2. Just hug Team mates.

3. Duct tape his mouth. :laugh1:

Yet that has nothing to do with Pearson and his actions, he caught the ball and went to the sidelines. The catch and TD says it all no need for anything else. Again it is too bad the antics become the entertainment instead of the act of making the play. I'm a football fan I enjoy the game of football not a re-run of dancing with the stars. Each to their own I guess.
Just because you're boring, don't make the rest of the world boring with you... Let the players have fun, us fans act crazier than they do...

I watch the game for the game unlike you I don't need to see dancing with the stars to get excited. Too bad that your interest is in dancing and not football but then that is you.

The best celebration in football is when the player scoring is humble and hands the ball to the ref, but then his teammates mob him in the EZ with unbridled enthusiasm !!

Lineman come running, the QB comes running, and everybody meets to jump up and down to celebrate at the guy who scored.

I agree. I want to see emotion and enthusiasm by the team. As for antics in the endzone I don't care one way or the other unless it cost us 15 yards in the process.

If they outlawed every endzone celebration in football, .. nobody would quit watching football.

It will always be about the football.

I have nothing aginst endzone celebration but like anything in life some will always try and take it too far and that is why the NFL is trying to get a handle on this now before it does start to get out of hand.

I think they have begun to do just that.

I agree and support it. I have nothing against spontaneous celebration but a lot of what we are seeing is nothing more than staged acts such as placing a cell phone under the goal post to bring attention to 1 person yet it took 10 others doing their job for the 1 to get the TD.
