T.O. Spitting on Hall *** MERGED THREAD ***

WRONG.....the LAST thing the league is going to do is not let TO play against the Eagles.

No way.
Retro-actively they'll probabyl suspend him just in time for the playoffs thus launching countless conspiracy charges that might not be unfounded.

TO's act was disgusting no two ways about it, and there is no excuse or justification for what he did.

Having said that, suspending him for spitting on a player would be excessive, IMO.

Players are generally suspended for a repeated trangression of a rule, for an act that harms another player or for a violation that jeopardizes the integrity of the game (gambling for example).

Spitting is like pushing or shoving in terms of the impact it has on a player(s) and the game. It's one of those "lesser" offenses that will merit a fine but not a suspension.

Fine yes, suspension no.

I agree.

If guys aren't suspended for fighting, they shouldn't be suspended for spitting, which may be more degrading personally but less physically harmful than being punched in the face.

No way should Owens be suspended. Fined yes but suspended, forget it Hall.

I can see where this line of thinking is going ..... but I think its more about the Image of the League ....

What Owens did was a Cowardly punk move ..... hitting someone (as long as they are looking) is considered to warriors battling it out.

I hope he does not get it ..... but if I was in charge his butt would sit for the next game.

Owens already had a sour reputation, he is the non-tatooed Dennis rodman of football. How it is, I wish he had stopped to think but I also don't doubt that Hall provoked animousity with his arrogance, the holier than thou press he did last night was eye rolling.

Did anyone see columbo throw hall after a play? It was close to the end of a play and Hall was squirming around to just jump on the pile after it was clear the ball carrier was tackled, and he like jumped and columbo just threw him aside

Then T.O. should have just slapped the taste out of his mouth .....

Thats what men do. (yea yea I know .... but its football players)

Yep. I saw it. Hall was PO'd. Not only was TO buttering him like melba toast, our o linemen were tossing him around like a rag doll. :lmao:

Hall is a baby.....I couldn't beat him up, I couldn't stop him, he spit in my face so the league needs to suspend him since I can't do anything about it

The thing is it was a self admitted act it wasn't caught on film so to speak. If it had been caught on camera then maybe a suspension could be in the talks but it was an act that was admitted to but not seen.

The problem with the "image" argument is that no one saw it. It's not on tape to be shown over and over, like a fight. So it's really a matter of ruling on an incident that is more concept than visual.

In that respect, I don't think he should be fined nor do I think it's the same as fighting.

Now, if it had been caught on tape, showing the severity of it or the blatant disrespect, that would be another matter.

Ok I can see that.

Hall was talking crap from the first play of the game.

He hit TO and Glenn late OOB.

He speared Barber after he was down.

He chopped Flo's knees.

The freaking punk deserved a two by four upside his trash-talking, overrated head.

Amen brother
