Well, in no way am I sticking up for a spitter.

I think a suspension, considering where our team is in the playoff race, would be out of line.

That may sound ironic, seeing as what Owens did was entirely out of line, but as LTN said, precedence needs to set the punishment for this transgression.

Hall was talking crap from the first play of the game.

He hit TO and Glenn late OOB.

He speared Barber after he was down.

He chopped Flo's knees.

The freaking punk deserved a two by four upside his trash-talking, overrated head.

Yiou know, I'd be pissed to if I just got beaten for TDs after proclaiming myself the best DB in football.

Not only that, TO scored two touchdowns on him after the spitting incident. How much more motovation did he need to shut TO down. I recall early this year on the NFL Network, Hall and Chad Johnson was on the show, and Hall talked about how he shut TO down. Funny thing is, during that game, TO caught 7 for 110. Hall said that he did his job by keeping him out of the endzone.

Hall is the most over-rated player in the game today. We complain about Roy not being able to cover, this guy is a joke. He should keep his mouth shut and learn to cover better.

What a crybaby! Big deal, a little fluid in the face. I don't know why everyone is so appalled. What if Dick Butkis did it? Everybody praises him. We all talk about what a mean #@% he was. Like TO really cares if you respect him off the field.

What would some of you say about the nut grabbing that goes on at the bottom of piles. Really its worse than spitting, chance for injury, but since no one runs to the media saying, "I would have that fumble if so and so didn't have a hold of my nuts." Like I have said in other posts what TO did is dispicable but there is another side to that coin that TO will not air out in the media at this time.

I'd be surprised with a suspension.....What he did was stupid and disgusting. He deserves a very hefty fine....but no suspension.

In related news, T.O. calls for retirement of Hall. Claiming "no coverage ability", T.O. demands Hall retire and start eating some popcorn.

Spitting in a guys face is terrible. No excuse for that.

Deangelo Hall is the most over-rated player in the NFL and he talks trash all the time and rarely backs it up.

Last year he was proud of the way he stopped TO. What? TO had over 100yds in that game.

This spitting incident was not even caught on camera. Both Sean Taylor's and Romonowski's were...and they were fined not suspended.

I know Deangelo considers himself to be special but you are not and TO will get fined and that is it.

Time for Deangelo to shut up and work on his golf game because the Falcons just lost any chance at the playoffs.

Bah!

Hall's a notorious motormouth.

I'm sure in those 2 1/2 minutes he got in TO's sexual proclivities, ancestry, and Pro Bowl chances.

Could YOU take 2 1/2 minutes of that kind of inhuman provocation and not snap, Jack?

are you implying there are weeks in the NFL where this *doesn't* happen?

NTTFL - National Trash Talk Football League. it happens every game every week.

no excuse.

as for "he apologized - big whoop. an apology is not a carte blanche license to do whatever the hell you please to someone. can we beat the hell out of someone and simpyl apologize and it's all ok?

Bill Romanowski spit in JJ Stokes' face a few years back. He got a $7500 fine and no suspension. His act was caught on tape and replayed dozens of times.

agreed, dave. i'm amazed at the # of people that are excusing this action and even finding ways to justify it. agreed hall is a jackwipe for all this trash talk, but it's the NFL - are we to assume there's things said out on the field owens has NOT heard yet?

for all the talk owens does, you think he'd admire some good trash talking anyway.

i don't care what was said and i don't care how good or bad hall is - you do NOT spit on someone.

Let the record show the use of the word 'jackwipe'.

That was pretty smooth how iceberg slipped that in. It's not very often that you hear such a word.

Sorry if repost. Thing is, I agree with Hall!

Yet it was perfectly ok for him to pull down that Saints receiver 5 yards in the end zone, and potentially break the guys leg? Which shows the worst sportsmanship? Brobably both, but at least TO didn't have the potential to end a guys career simply because he got toasted. This guy is a joke.
