Ask Ashwynn. Apparently we're going to have to cut him before training camp for this kind of behavior!

Do you guys realize how many football players play in charity basketball games? I saw Pup in one down just before he blew out his achilles. He actually thought he had skills. :)

Anyway, TO has always participated in some form of basketball in the offseason. It's his second love.

To me, this is much ado about nothing. I'm not even a TO supporter, but he could sneeze and some of you would accuse him of infecting the lockerroom w/bacteria.

Im sorry, I just dont see anything wrong in T.O. playing in a charity basketball game....Why is this a big deal, sure the guy has a chance to get hurt.......but did anyone criticize Lance Berkman last year when he went down with his knee injury before the season started while playing Softball?

Well for the record, the initial hysteria was caused because ESPN News reported it as if it were breaking news. But I agree, his every move is going to be scrutinized. I think it's a great thing, the guy is at his best with adversity (he seems to need it).

Cowboys players have been playing off-season charity basketball games since the 1960s.

What gives this, perhaps, a different angle is that Owens has spouted off in the past about playing professionally.

He may be good, but he's not that good.

And he may be stupid, but he's not that stupid.

Much adoodoo about nothing.

You may be right, but I guess one thing some of us have to do is educate ourselves as to what TO is about...and not just the bad things we've heard. Cowboy fans can't allow themselves to get caught up in the hype of breaking TO news.

TO has had an interest in basketball since his S.F days. He even played in the CBA for a few games and from everything I've read, he didn't come in like he was a big time football player... He didnt make a big difference as to the kinda money he made and the money the other players made. So playing b-ball is something he's gonna do, similar to how some folks play golf.

There may be some injury concern, given his age. But that should be about it, as far as I'm concerned.

know that Tony Gonzalez and Randy Moss also play basketball in the offseason ? To the point where both played in the CBA, if I remember correctly ?

Also, anybody know that the Dallas Cowboys, and most if not all NFL teams, encourage their players to play basketball as a part of their conditioning program ?

this is the stuff we're going to have to endure as long as "media hitler" Owens is on the team. It's no small secret that every sports writer on earth is a hypocrite. So anytime Owens sneezes it's going to be armageddon for the Dallas franchise. You remember at the end of the year when Glenn got a warning for public drunkeness, I think he peed on a dumpster. It was dismissed as a non-story. If the same thing happened to Owens, there would be a fallout in the Dallas media, like Owens had peed on Landry's grave.

Unless you have some type of disorder I apologize, but seriously it gets old. ES might appreciate your banter more.

Some of us wanted T.O, some of us didnt. Bottom line we have him. Cant do anything about it, but watch him play.
