Haha..."The Ultimate T.O".

Forseen when he participated in locker room fisticuffs with the Iggles.:laugh2:

I think all NFL players under contract should be extremely careful when playing outside sporting activities. They not only run the risk of injuring themselves, but also run the risk of jeopardize regular season playing time.

This is very true, though I would clearly understand if a player was ticked off by such a "fascist" rule that they couldn't do anything for fun in the off-season.

There is no such thing as a 100% safe environment. Athletes cannot live in a bubble. Yeah, guys have got hurt playing basketball. How many thousands don't get hurt? Play the odds here. Forbidding players to have a life is a ridiculous request. What's next? How about this one?

Player agrees that at no time will he occupy a home with stairs as stairs have been known to cause severe knee and ankle injuries.

It gets past the point of ridiculous in a big time hurry.

He played basketball. Romo played golf. Bledsoe rides his motorcycle. Henson notices lots of Germans smoking.

Danger lurks everywhere.

I saw the TO highlights, and this guy is just a freak athlete. His dunks can rival any NBA stars dunks.

Anyways, guys will play other sports and that's how it is. As long as you're not being stupid about it, and those who play sports as myself, know what I'm talking about.

We all know you can get injured doing anything, including practing route running with your QB or lifting weights or running sprints. I once played for a Semi-pro football team going up against some mean SOB's, and during the week, I was playing in a flag ball game, and tore my hamstring. Tore my hamstring playing some wimp game.

So when he does play basketball, he shouldn't try to get overly aggressive on defense and in rebounding. And don't take the ball to tho hole to strong. Break away slam dunks are the safest part of the game, next to shooting 3 pointers.:)

He'll never hear the end of that.

Second hand smoke kills. The guy is living dangerously. Where were the contract details prior to sending him to Europe? Alas, the absent mindedness of the organization.

Leave it to a guy whose username initials spell out the International sign of help needed, SOS, to bring this back to reality.

They put him in a dire situation. Haven't they seen the commercials about The Truth?

Oh the horror.

:wink2:

Henson probably would never have been able to play for Ernie Zampese.

Can you imagine his journal entries?

"Wow, the OC here must be from Germany, all he does is smoke cigarettes all the time."

Actually for postions like DB and Receiver I would encourage basketball, helps with the muscles like the groin and hamstring, make jumps and postioning oneself in a jump to come down with the ball, not to mention the aerobic benefit of the game, lets see 100 wind sprints a day or a 6 hours playing basketball?

No, I'm reinforcing my opinion that signing TO will ruin Parcells' tenure. Just my opinion. TO is already causing a stir before mini-camp. Most TO supporters said he would be an angel this time around.
Well Parcells tenure hasn't been all that great up till now anyways. If Parcells leaves here with a not so great tenure,it will be Parcells fault,no one else fault.

TO just ate a baked potato, workers in Idaho are furious and may strike. Looks like TO has destroyed the Idaho potato business!!! Film at 11

You have good common sense Hos, and a way of bringing your point to the fore -- I get what you're saying ...and your right.

However, I was looking more in terms of big name players becoming targets for upcoming athletes who'd like to make a name for themselves, by dunking the ball in a big-name players face, or trying to get the best of a Big-name player by being a Little bit too aggressive in their performance. Not suggesting to include a "baby" clause in player contracts, just something as a disclaimer that places the onus on the player to us judgement in deciding which outside athletic event they choose to compete.

Does that make sense to you?

I clearly see your point also. But at some point, players must delineate between good business decisions, and ...fun!

Having read this thread...it seems Ashwynn and CactusCowboy hate charity.

I'm right there with ya. I think charity is one of the gravest dangers affecting the youth today.

Down with charity!!!!!!!!!

Really does not matter what TO does he is going to get a free pass around here regardless of what he does or what he may say. Hell let him play basketball as long as he can act halfway decent once football season comes around I'm to the point of not caring.

Free pass?

For some, maybe.

But this is such a non-issue, ya know? I'd wager 80% of the guys in the league have basketball courts set up at their house. Is there that much more danger in a charity basketball game than a pick-up game with their buddies at their house? I doubt it. It's only a big deal because it's TO. I expected it going into the deal with him, the scrutiny is gonna be huge, but I thought they'd latch onto something a little more relevant, ya know? Gave the media too much credit, as they blow things up, and present only half the facts.

Didn't we have a bunch of players riding around in stock cars last year? It's legal to ride your motorcycle without a helmet here in PA, and Ben R. does.

It was a charity basketball game. Wake me up when something newsworthy occurs.:)
