Juke, out of curiosity, what is your opinion on Sterling Sharpe?
I think the guy is very underrated and just never had a Quarterback until the end of his career.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I'm not seeing Amendola anywhere on that list...Juke99;2609510 said:Well, let's see...off the top of my head...
He's not better than Jerry Rice, Raymomd Berry, Paul Warfield, Randy Moss, Lance Alworth, Marvin Harrison, Michael Irvin, Steve Largent, Charlie Taylor...
Then there's Don Hutson, Cris Carter, Art Monk, Tim Brown...Who are close to top ten...
So...uh, maybe.
And PLEEEEEEEEASE folks, when ya start debating this, REMEMBER the era some of these guys played in...Don Hutson, Paul Warfield are not going to have great numbers....but remember, the game was VERY different back then.

He's not going ahead of Rice or Irvin(yes homer).
ROFL @ him not being better than Largent. Carter>>>>>Largent.
When I think of the best receivers of the past decade, he's in that Moss and Harrison trio.
My list...
1. Rice
2. Irvin
3/4. Owens/Moss....Sometimes It's Owens. Sometimes It's Moss. It all depends the mood Im in.
5. Carter - I know many will disagree with this, but my appreciation for the ability to constantly get open and make plays after you have the ball in your hands holds no limits and he's the GOAT slot receiver.
6. Harrison - For all the criticism Peyton got, Im surprised this guy always got a pass. Reggie Wayne is a better playoff receiver than Harrison. The 100 yard games and TDs arent even close. He had one game where he had over 100 yards receiving and 2 TDs. He hasnt had another 100 yard receiving game or TD in his entire postseason career.
7. S. Smith - I realize his stats arent great, but he's one of the best I've watched. He's like the Allen Iverson of the NBA. Pound for Pound, the best to play his position. He can kill you everywhere on the field and it's almost like his lack of height has become almost irrelevant which is great for a WR. If the numbers werent so one sided, Id put him over Harrison.
8. Torry Holt - This is more of a statement listing. His consistency for a decade despite the inconsisties in St. Louis hasnt changed and he still gets no appreciation. Over 1600 twice(nearly 1700 in '03), over 90 receptions 6 times, over 100 receptions twice, 10 or more TDs three times. A great route runner.
I cant stand the punk on the sidelines or in interviews, but when he was in his prime last year, in Philly, and alot of his years in San Fran, I've rarely seen any better. A shame how he carries himself make people forget just how great this guy has been. I remember as soon as he went to Philly in '04, I knew our season was dead.
Juke99;2609607 said:Problem I have with your list is that it's limited to the guys you've seen play...you're saying that there were NO top ten receivers prior to the 90's?

Juke99;2609636 said:Oh and I'm supposed to read everything before I respond?
My only issue would be if it was something that happend on a game to game basis which for most of his career, it hasnt. The last time he had some serious issues throughout a season with the 17 drops was '06 and that was when he had surgery during the season on his finger.Juke99;2609635 said:OK..cool...just curious. Thanks
My gripe about Owens as a top ten...even though I think he might be....is he doesn't have top ten hands...I think if you're going to be considered a top ten receiver, you have to have great hands. He doesn't.
