People don't get this.

This position takes seasoning unless you're a super rare player.

Look at our own Demarcus Lawrence.

Year 4 and he looks like a young JPP.

Nitpicking, but we never really saw Lawrence his rookie year.
Spent most of the season injured. Then was slowly rotated in when he was cleared. Then had that good showing against the Lions in the playoffs.
But yes, I do agree with your point.

If you run a 4-3, you have to consistently spend premium picks on DLinemen because of how long that position often takes to develop.

Glad to see that many here are defending the kid. Expectations are often too high for late first-rounders to play like they've been in the league for years. We don't know what Taco is going to be as a player, but there's no reasons to jump to conclusions.

Lawrence is definitely a good example. From his first season to his second, he redefined his body to add power to his speed and it paid off for him. All I'd like to see from Taco is similar progress. Hopefully, by the end of this season, he'll have gained an understanding of what he needs to do to win against LTs and will start coming through in some of those battles.

There were a few good signs in that regard in this game, and he can use those moments to build on.

Just Wrong. Taco had at least 3 pressures where he beat the OT last night. Maybe he didn't bring down the QB, but he definitely wasn't horrible. He looks like he belongs to me as far as strength and athleticism. He'll only get better with technique

I never saw him blown up....he was active off the snap and did get pressure a couple times and was clearly held on another snap. As for Crawford, he did pressure several times but I do think the going back and forth is not the best move for him. He needs to play one spot or the other.

The thing that was also different last night is Paea and Collins were getting push up the gut, which they largely have not been able to do. Lewis looked much better at corner, especially when they moved him up tighter instead of playing 8-10 yds back. Woods and Frazier also had some moments each.

Tackling still wasn't great early but got better as the game went out. Lewis was a tackling machine in the second half and Woods held his own.

No idea what you were looking at because I saw multiple double teams and some pressure on multiple occassions.

He had one sure sack taken away because of a blatant hold.

He is a rookie, and from your post count, so are you. Maybe you need a year or two of posting to make better threads and posts....

Or guys like you can just admit you were dead wrong about Taco.

...at doing nothing. Got washed out on every play.

I was in the minority that didn't like the pick but....hopefully he can get in the weight room and turn it around next season. You look at a guy like Lawrence and his body and then Taco and it's like a man and a boy. What can we do but wait and see? Not going to continue to rip him to shreds. What's the point....

In the meantime, we better see Tapper next week against the Rams...seriously.
