I've felt all along that this Ramsey/Elliot talk is a smoke screen to try to entice someone to trade up. I'd love if they could move back a couple spots and still land Bosa.

We can only hope so.

I have a feeling they will end up trading down. Jones says after the round, "They just made us an offer we felt like we had to take. We still got our guy and we are very happy with the extra pick(s) we ended up with". We have all heard it in the past.

agree, he also says if this team wouldnt have tried to be cute with B Jones last yr and just played him at FS from the start the secondary wouldve been better instead of him flip flopping back and forth.

If they draft Ramsey thinking they do not know where to play him... Then don't draft him. I take someone else.

Cowboys already have a player like that, Byron Jones. And they drafted him with their first round pick last year. Will adding another Jones type player improve the D immediately to contend for championships?

It's a very valid question and the answer is no. However, Ramsey is probably higher on their BOARD than Zeke. Won't matter IMO...I think the Chargers take Ramsey and I really hope they do because then our phone will be ringing off the hook with teams looking to trade up for Tunsil.

Oh they know where they would play him and thats CB. Which i agree most would think thats a bad choice especially at 4 overall

Would love Lawson and elliot with our 1st 2 picks. Would be fine with elliot and ogbah also.

Ramsey and ogbah is Bueno also

Rolando McClain is our starting MLB. How do you feel about that?

I'd like a middle linebacker.

I don't get the Elliot hype either but enough really smart people have him touted as an elite prospect that i'll just concede to it even though he looks like the protypical 1st round RB that belongs in the pick 20-early second round range.

Whats crazy about him though is he is 6'0 230... I'd never guess that. He also runs a 4.4. 32 inch vert is poor though.

You just answer your own questions. Guy is special.

Just don't trade down too far. If they could get Elliott and pick up another 2nd round pick (or high 3rd), I'd be thrilled.

Yeah, I think if they want to play the trade down game, they need to be fully willing to lose Elliott. Which they may be under the right circumstances -- if they're able to land a couple more high draft choices and still nab a guy like Rankins in the middle of round 1, that would be a pretty sweet consolation prize.

the dallas cowboys need IMPACT PLAYERS on either offense or defense if want to get better why would trade away from two great players.

Nate talks about the STAR posistion FSU made for Ramsey and thats how he should be played. And mentioned teams like AZ and Jets teams that would find a way to maximize his potential, but this team isnt that style of defense, they play a set system and doesnt think he will maxmize his skills in Dallas

I don't know if I buy this.

First of all we have a new coverage coordinator in Eberflus who worked with multiple look Rob Ryan.

We already used Jones like the STAR last year earlier in the year. They had him lined up all over the field. I actually thought they were inspired by what FSU did with Ramsey in doing so.

We have also switched schemes multiple times. Kiffin was all zone all the time. Cover 2 and 3. They were really bad at it then too. Kiffin was canned and we started rotating looks between cover 3 and man primarily. Then last year we went with the man robber scheme.

We deploy all kinds of personnel packages with various heavy, nickel, and dime looks.

I'm not buying what he is selling.

That's interesting and I do get that line of thought but I would point out that Tom Landry didn't draft this way. Tom Drafted Football players that offered something and he would then figure out the best position for them. Just as an FYI.

We ain't got Tom Landry. We're screwed. Go Jason!

Hey, I'm okay if they draft Ramsey. He's a helluva football player. The sexy pick is Elliott. That's who I want. But if we take Ramsey, or even Joey Bosa, I'll still be a proud Cowboys fan! All other fans can kiss my blue and silver *** cheeks.

Pretty confident Dallas is getting calls to move down.

Tunsil falls and the team will be getting ALOT of calls guaranteed.

Some talk that chargers feel they never had their OL healthy at the same team to get a feel for what they got

Nate: IDC who they draft just get a difference maker from day one

Nate: when u get exceptional talent it changes everything and overcomes even inuries to key players

Nate: If you intend to draft Ramsey and you dont know where youre going to play him yet then ur drafting the wrong guy.

The way Ramsey would need to be played to be a impact, its doubtful this team would do.

Dont want Ramsey playing SS vs the run

Mickey and Nate didn't say that. That was the other guy.

I think Ramsey will eventually be a good player in the league but he isn't going to make the defense go from middle of the road to top 3. Certainly not if you're expecting turnovers.

A player like Elliott, however, can really give the team an extra oomph from day one and be a stalwart of a power offense for 4-6 years.
