I agree. Started to add that in my post. I don't think they want to use it either.
I wonder if the hold up is more on the guaranteed money part, and not so much the length or terms of total amount.
Just my thoughts though.

It's slightly new since previous reports had been that the Cowboys and Dez's agent have not spoken much lately. Now they have.

if that's the case, I fully expect them to place a tag on him to secure rights while they work on a long term, mutually beneficial, deal. I believe the Jone's are well aware the next 2-3 years are all or nothing and they're not going to lock $13M in cap space on Dez that would be better spent of defensive free agents.
