Hell I live in Texas, who here doesnt have an arsenal in their house :laugh2:
Who here doesn't have an arsenal in each room?

I'd be all for signing Tank if he can come here in shapes and memorize the playbook in time for his first game (@ NYG). Not only does he have a ****load of talent but he won't have the wear and tear of the first half of the NFL season on him.

Good point, putting fresh legs in the middle of the line midseason will be a great advantage. Talented and young (25) fresh legs make it even better

Texas has more forgiving gun laws, he might like it in the Lone Star State.

Actually, I don't subscribe to any gun magazines. Furthermore, as I don't hunt or target shoot with any regularity, I can't be described as a gun nut. I just happen to own a few guns.

Its funny how almost everyone in here said NO WAY to Tank initially and expressed that Jerry WOULD NEVER sign him....and that WE DONT need him...

I hate being right....

If Dallas were to sign him I just hope the guy has learned his lessons and stays out of trouble. I would hate to waste a roster spot only to have this idiot turn around and get suspended once again. He has had more than his fair share of chances and has yet to learn anything.

TANK, 'BOYS ALREADY HAVE A DEAL IN PRINCIPLE?
We've picked up a tip that we've got no reason (yet) to not believe that the Dallas Cowboys and defensive tackle Tank Johnson (or is it Williams?) already have an agreement in principle on a contract.

Given, however, that Johnson currently is serving his eight-week suspension despite not being on a team, it would make more sense for Johnson to wait until after Week Eight to formalize the transaction, since it would allow him to play in nine games with the Cowboys, who are on a bye during Week Eight.

Speaking of suspended players, guys who are back or eligible to come back now that Week Two has ended include Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen, Panthers guard Jeremy Bridges, free-agent receiver Antonio Bryant, and free-agent linebacker A.J. Nicholson.

UPDATE: Ed Werder of ESPN.com reports that Johnson expects to play for the Cowboys after serving his suspension. "I'm here to work some things out. I'm looking here for a fresh start," Johnson told Werder from the hotel where the Cowboys play their home games.

Tank Johnson said Monday night he expects to play for the Dallas Cowboys upon returning from his eight-game NFL suspension.

"I'm here to work some things out. I'm looking here for a fresh start," Johnson said when reached in his room at the hotel where the Cowboys stay before home games.

Earlier on Monday, a high-ranking team source said there have been lengthy discussions among members of the team's coaching staff and owner Jerry Jones about Johnson's off-field problems and his playing ability.

The Cowboys or any team would be able to sign Johnson during his suspension but he cannot work out or have contact with a team until he serves his suspension in its entirety.

Although Johnson has never played nose tackle, Phillips has extolled the flexibility of his 3-4 defensive scheme to accommodate players of different sizes and styles. The Cowboys lost starter Jason Ferguson for the season when the nose tackle suffered a torn right biceps tendon in Dallas' season-opening win against the Giants.

Johnson was waived by the Chicago Bears on June 25, three days after he was stopped by police in Arizona driving 40 mph in a 25-mph zone. Johnson was not charged with any crime. He was suspended by the league for violating probation on a gun charge that stemmed from a raid on his home. Johnson served a two-month jail term in the spring.

Ed Werder covers the NFL for ESPN.

Would think Jones has talked to Goodell about any penalties to the Cowboys by signing Tank on essentially a short-lash contract.

Frankly, if we didn't have 3 injuried starters and our defense needs help, no way would I want us to sign him. W/o Ellis and Newman, our defense is in trouble. Ratliff did pretty good in his first game as a starter so only see Johnson as a backup NT to him but do wonder if Tank could help us at DE where Spears & Canty need to step it up.

If Tank can't stay out of trouble in only 8 remaining games, his career in NFL is over & he might actually realize that now. Of course his mind might not grasp that concept so who knows.

I don't think he will play in 8 games, once he is through with the suspention he will have to get into football shape so I would expect that it will be 2 to 3 weeks after he returns before he could really help much at all.

Strahan came back with 1 week of prep work in a so called new defence for him....

If Tank is signed.....I think he can step right in the next game and play a bunch of snaps....NT has only so many reads.....Tank can probally be able to study the playbook and get the terminology down while he serves his suspension.....

And I think Tank will be in pretty good shape for a NT....its not like he will be playing 60 snaps a game :)

I'm not totally against bringing in someone with alittle attitude. We need to pump some fire into our choir boy defense.
