Just my opinion, but this was the best play by any player on our team up until this point. Unreal the talent and determination this play took.

Also, look at Big Bo come crashing through....

Don't get all hyper over 1 play, stubby.

I looked at that play several times and couldn't really tell how much Lawrence did to cause the fumble. Maybe some of you have better eyes than me, but I can't see him ripping it out or anything like that. It appeared to me that the back just lost the ball. Now, Lawrence did do a great job of getting penetration and stopping the play before the back got back to the line of scrimmage.
He went through two blockers, then knocked the ball out by wrapping his arm around the backside of the RB. That's why the ball went forward.
Might have more to do with his health. He got hurt early last season, had to rehab and then come back from that. Fans tend to think these players can just do that and play at the top of their game when sometimes it takes them till the next season to get right. He deserved the pay cut, but it didn't mean he still isn't one of our top players on defense when healthy.
I think it's the Parsons effect. Parsons is bringing out Tanks competitive nature. You have to out perform the best to be the best. So Tank is trying to show Parsons...he's not the only one that can make plays.

I hope this helps shut up some of the people who fuss so much about his contract.

McCarthy said he ‘peanut punched’ the ball out which marinelli had taught him to do. Apparently he has caused several fumbles that way over the past 4-5 years.

I think I have to say Michah's TD saving tackle was the bigger play.

Didn't see that, but he's definitely done that before. Glad the player is getting some deserved recognition. He's been good for a long time for us even if injuries have slowed him down at times, as well as not having much help.

I thought I'd replaced the word wrapping in my post with swinging. Because he swung his arm around the RB's backside to knock it out. But yes he swung straight for the ball with his right arm.

That play and Parsons play are neck and neck to me.

They both saved TD’s while using maximum effort.

Parsons play was great. But I'd argue DLaw's play was more of a rarity. That technique and timing was just amazing. And Dlaw is only 30, so he's got a few good years of that stuff left, I think. The fact that those two plays were back to back was really interesting.

The reason I like DLaw's play better than Parsons' is because we were on the 1 yard line. Rarely, do teams not score points on 1st and goal on the 1 yard line. The fact Dlaw not only helped prevent a score, but took the ball back, is why I think his play is more impressive.

I hope this helps shut up some of the people who fuss so much about his contract.

Same here.

The biggest reason we let Amari Cooper walk is because of DLaw's contract. He's just a more valuable player, and proving he was worth the deal this year.

I think I have to say Michah's TD saving tackle was the bigger play.

As great as it was, that play would be worthless in most situations, unless someone forces the turnover.

The point that needs to be made here is this.

1) Without Parsons hustle and ability Detroit takes the lead. Instead they need one more snap to do so in 4 tries.

2) DLaw makes a secondary tremendous DL play and the ball comes free and Barr falls on it.

3) There is an element of luck to Williams fumbling yes. But the compounded odds of both plays happening is incredibly low.

Luck is the intersection of opportunity and preparation.

Both players were prepared and both hit the equivalent of casino Blackjack on split Jacks sitting next to each other @ the table- because they were prepared for the moment and seized the opportunity.

I challenge anybody to produce a better defensive play by any player this season.

I don't know. Don't think I agree with this. Don't get me wrong, great play at a great time by a great player. Not discounting it or him in the least here. But there are others that can and do those types of plays every week or so. A Donald comes to mind. I can't think of another player, espeically a LB that weighs 245lbs that can do what Parsons did on the play before that. That was just a freaky athletic play. But really, both were amazing plays by amazing players so picking one or the other is just splitting hairs.
FYI, you are discounting it

DLaw is an elite run stopper at the DE position. His play strength and quickness is incredible for a guy his size. He's been making plays like this his whole career. The way he splits this double team and stonewalls the pulling guard is just flat out incredible. Not many players in the league are even capable of that play.
