IMO a non-issue.

He has a little potential but not worth saving a space on the final 53.

Not surprising.

He looked solid, but isn't anything amazingly special.

Plenty of QBs like him floating around.

Let the ruing commence!

more importantly, I doubt a team likes him enough to put him on their 53. If they like him, they'll put a star by his name and hope to get him off our PS if they need to sign a 3rd QB

So much for those who wanted to trade/cut Orton for Tanney.

i don't think anyone will sign him. i think there are lots of guys like tanney around the nfl. guys with some raw talent who need developed. the problem is keeping them on your 53 man roster long enough to develope them. i think we get him back on ps and see what he can do next year. with a little luck he can push orton off the roster next year and you get cheaper there and have some youth behind tony. maybe even some trade bait down the road

I'm a big fan of Alex Tanney, but after watching the World War Z pass rush allowed by our backup OL last night, we clearly need to try to keep the two QB's we have upright more than we need to develop a new QB, at least right now. We need to dump some of our current reserve OL and find a couple who have been cut by other teams. There have to be some better players out there.

Tanney hasn't showed enough to worry about someone rushing to sign him. I think he'll make the practice squad.

I really hope he makes the practice squad. Dude's got potential.

Potential to be a backup maybe that's about it. If he had anymore potential than that KC would have never cut him and Buffalo would have signed him back in May when they brought him in. He would still be with the Cowboys if he had real potential. At least 4 teams have looked at him Chicago, Buffalo, KC and Dallas.

Doesn't mean squat. There's countless stories of players that were on 4 teams or more before they finally stuck.

Yep, we had one here a couple of years ago. He played so good for us we couldn't afford to keep him. Laurent Robinson.

He's a good kid has some skills and some raw talent and does a few good things. However being what almost 26 he is a little behind the 8 ball here. I think Dallas will look for a QB not next year but the year after if I had a guess. Probably a young guy who will sit behind Romo for a year.

Once again, Roger the Dodger was 28 when he got onto the football field. Not saying Tanney is The Dodger. What I am saying is: if the guy can play age is irrelevant.

Tanney is a nobody. I watched the Cowboys and Bears games at the bar last night, and Jordan Palmer was the one that looked good.

I still think Dallas is 1 draft away from picking a QB. I'm not knocking Tanney I'm saying that I think Dallas at this juncture is happy with what they have and will look in the 2015 draft for a young promising QB
