Tap the breaks on Pollard

I have no need of pumping breaks. Most of his carries came after the game was in hand and NY knew Dallas would run the ball to run the clock. I did not go into this season expecting Pollard to take over Zeke job. I expect to see Pollard do some good things for the team especially in the passing game but never went into this season expecting HOF performance

He's going to be explosive in this offense. It's obvious.

They've made bare minimum attempts to get him in space. Even in the pre-season.

I wouldn't go there, yet. First of all the O-line didn't look great in the run game aspect. And secondly he didn't get many opportunities. Not to mention that the gmen were definitely selling out run stop much of the game.

True I think he will get his chances to shine. I can't complain too much however on the performance of the offense. I do think there will be games that Moore gets him more involved.

Against a putrid Giants defense, he managed 24 yards on 13 carries. He looked every bit the 4th round pick out of his depth.
I wouldn't worry yet. He had his moments during preseason. It's just one game into the regular season. And, unlike that wastoid garbage 2nd round DT, at least he made the game day roster. The coaches still think highly of him.

Well, I never thought Pollard was going to be the everydown back a lot of our fan base did. I mean, I figured for a few games, he might be able to do it but not over the course of a season. I always thought he was better suited to coming out of the backfield and catching the ball with the occasional carries thrown in. We have yet to see him used in that capacity. I believe he is completely capable of filling that role and I believe he would be very effective, if used in that way. However, as I've contended throughout (and believe me when I say I hope I am wrong), I hear us say this every year. I see us draft guys to be used in this capacity and it never materializes. I fear that this is what will happen again this year.

Think about it.... Zeke just signed a new big deal. You saw what you saw last Sunday, you think Zeke is going to be OK giving up carries to Pollard with the amount of throws this team will be making this season? I suspect that we will be throwing the ball down field much more this year. Zeke's carries are, more then likely, going to take a hit this year. He's not going like that. I tried to have this conversation earlier in the year but of course, it was a wasted effort. Anyway, I'm affraid that his abilities may, once again, be wasted. I really hope not but gotta see it before I believe it.

That was a pretty impressive 24 yards considering he was hit in the backfield almost every time he touched the ball.

He should be getting touches the same way Kamara does, and that's....not at all what they did. His impact will be felt if they every choose to give him the ball in space, not as a backup being asked to do exactly what Zeke does. The problem is that, with the volume Zeke gets and the passing game, there's almost no opportunity for that.

Preseason does not matter. Literally. Is he a better pick than Tristy Hill? You bet. But, 13 carries is a significant opportunity and he did nothing with it. I'm just messing with all the folks who had him pencilled in as the next Alvin kamara.

They intentionally ran him between the tackles and used him to burn clock in garbage time. They literally did none of the things they’ve been doing with him in camp here in week one, and it was on purpose. Come on, guys. I know it’s early, but our complaining about nothing game has to be better than this. Let’s focus on the run defense a bit.
