Maybe he wasn't the best fit for the Cowboys anymore, but I will miss Tashard

Furthermore, consider these things.
1. Before the deadline, we only hoped we had a capable runner in Murray.
2. Choice is a FA after this year, teams wouldn't pay much for him.
3. This also means that only teams in dire need of a RB would pay anything for him.
4. Whatever they offered must not have been worth the risk of not knowing what you had in Murray, with an injured Felix.
Detroit offered Bobby Carpenter.shockandroll;4208717 said:Common sense tell you if you don't know what the offer was or if there even was a real one, you have know idea if it should have been taken. If there was a good one, of course we should have taken it. Unless someone can prove what was seriously offered and that JJ alone chose to turn it down, comments like we need a real GM are just empty whining.

2 kickers can come in handy....David B is a weapon on kickoffs...and Bailey is a weapon on Fg's....kickoffs is not his speciality...especially with the climate changing and probably bad weather to come..its's best to keep him fresh for FG's
and if need be..if we ever have to kick a 60 yard FG....i don't bailey has the leg strength to, but David B could

Sometimes you have to have players step up and prove they can do what your veterans were doing before you let go of another player.
Kilyin;4208723 said:Bottom line, you would get more for Choice than you would for David Buehler. David Buehler would not start for another team in the NFL.
I'll take a diff. approach and say thank you t.choice for everything you have provided us in the past few years. Best of luck to him and I TRULY hope he can rejuvenate his career else where!GloryDaysRBack;4208613 said:Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
shockandroll;4208706 said:You don't even know if there were trade offers or what they were. What if the offer was a player and they wanted us to trade Choice and one of our future picks? The trade offer might not have been one we thought improved us compared to keeping Choice.
he has more TDs than tashard this year, i would have taken it.Hostile;4208721 said:Detroit offered Bobby Carpenter.
Everyone feel better now?
I am just kidding.

There are cap implications with trades. Sometimes it is simply better to cut the umbilical cord. I wanted Choice gone the second he went out of bounds and saved Washington a timeout.
The recent fumbling only made it worse. This move doesn't bother me, and some reported trade that we turned down isn't going to wad my panties up.
But by all means, let yours get wadded up so you feel better about the taste in your mouth. I never liked bile personally.
jazzcat22;4208693 said:Another brilliant move by JJ....not trading him to get a late round draft pick. So they wait and cut him instead....
IF there was a chance to trade him...could be just Jerry speak.
Gibby!;4208722 said:It wasn't a shot at him being a kicker, more of a question about being a dual role player, like White in 80's. He is fairly fast, has good strength, has a GREAT killer attitude on the field, isnt afraid to hit or get hit. With the right coach he could probably get pretty good at covering a TE in dime situations plus he is an added tackler on the KO team unlike most of the 31 other teams, that's all I was thinking.

Risen Star;4208736 said:You're not telling me anything I don't know. The Cowboys make a move, you support it. You're like a parrot in Jerry's office.
I'm about maximizing your value. It's a GM's job to do it. Something is better than nothing and Jerry once again failed at it.
