Taking calls does nor mean quality offers, it means a team/s called and asked what we wanted.

You should know that every phone call placed to another front office is met with offers of 3rd-1st round picks. Especially if it's Cincinnati calling about Martellus Bennett. Take off your Jerry-colored homer glasses. ;)

Not every TE is a Jason Witten / Antonio Gates / Vernon Davis. I didn't say it was a GOOD idea, just an idea.

Why do you think they are keeping him?

Because i think he is real valuable as a kickoff guy, especially with rough weather about to come

I know for fact, as Hostile is my friend, that this is not true.

Again, false. Hostile is accepting of the results but still is not accepting of Rob Ryan.

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. Doesn't make it right.

Yup, exactly.

Buehler, when healthy, provides valuable utility to the team on a weekly basis.

I think when he was kicking off average starting position of the opponent was like the 14 yard line or 9 yard line.

He's got the leg and skill to boot them high and just deep enough to force a run-out, but to give the coverage team time to make it down field to have a shot at making a tackle inside the 10.

I'll carry 2 kickers if we can make our opponents have to go 90+ yards for a TD between kickoffs and punts. Who is really going to provide game-changing, game-breaking ability on that 53rd spot? It would otherwise be some guy that would be in street clothes on Sunday, in my opinion.

Funny the only thing being left out is the fact this move was made to make room for our 2nd rd draft choice who will make his debut this weekend

Don't talk about that yet - we aren't done rueing a theoretical phone call and trade offer that may or may not have occurred.

But yet with all that, and some are laughably "critical", you still believe in the direction of this team year in and year out. Through the Gailey years, to Campo, even Wade. How has that worked out for ya?
Why would you assume that? You couldn't be more wrong if it was your aim. Point blank, the day Barry Switzer was hired I said this team would begin a downward spiral that would take years to get out of. My worst day as a Cowboys fan in a lot of ways was winning Super Bowl XXX and seeing Barry yelling to Jerry that they did it their way baby.

I considered Chan Gailey and Dave Campo to be as bad or worse. In fact I used to call them blue light specials. I still do not like Dave Campo on this team, and I don't care who respects him as a position coach.

How has it worked out for me? It has sucked.

Which is my point. Whatever the current state of the team, you're on board with it. You hated Rob Ryan so much that you immediately accepted him as soon as the move was made. We didn't get out of the preseason before you decided you were wrong. The minute he became a Cowboy you started seeing him in a different light.
Again, where did I immediately accept Rob Ryan? You like assuming stuff about which you have no earthly clue. He's entertaining, but I'm the guy who last week pointed out that we were on pace to allow 387 points this year. I don't find that all that palatable.

Has my 100% negative opinion of him changed? Yes. But I wouldn't exactly say I am on board. I won't weep and wail and gnash my teeth if he gets a HC job somewhere else.

I'm not freaking out over this move. It's the homers that freak out when they can't deal with constructive criticism. I'm merely stating this was a bad move made by a bad GM. And I won't pretend any differently. Now I roll on to the next move. If I like it, I'll say so. If I don't, I'll say that too. No agenda here.
The hell you aren't. You freak out over everything. I don't see the attraction of it. The way I was raised men accept what they cannot change and they move on. It actually bothers me to see so many men seemingly incapable of it.

I'll be on here in reality knowing Choice could have at least fetched a late round pick and that we definitely turned down a deal or two prior to this release.

And yet, you don't KNOW this, because you don't know what was or wasn't offered. And you're frustrated anyway, because YOU'RE a realist. Got it.

I believe he wanted out. It's best for him, he always wanted to start and knew it would never happen so he manufactured his release by his play over the last few years. Of course, those are just my opinions. :)

Don't fumble the milk on your way to the door or you might be sleeping on the couch!

:laugh2: Turnovers weren't the only thing. The guys attitude started to suck and he was more talk than walk. The guy did not embrace being on this team. He didn't embrace the opportunity.

His work ethic was no longer what it was when he first came into this league and special teams became beneath him. He was not willing to do what it took to help this organization and his teammates.

When he did get his opportunities they became a disaster the last 2 seasons as we know.

As I said in another thread:

Tanner's performance left us no Choice.

Not really. Only way I could link those together would be if Choice never made mistakes. So lets say Tanner or Murray make a mistake in the game could you honestly tell me Choice would not have made one?

I have nothing aginst Choice I hope he gets his chance and can make the most of it. I do think his days were numbered in Dallas if not this season before the start of next.
