Peter Warrick was a lot bigger. Are you maybe thinking Warrick Dunn? He was a lot closer in stature.

The meltdown on this board Would be epic if Austin was picked in the first.

He's not bigger, but is most likely tougher. Desean is much taller.

Desean Jackson was the 49th pick overall, btw.

I meant from a muscular point of view.

Actually I dont think so at 18. Moving up to get him is another story. Reality is he wont get past the Jets at 13, they are desperate for play makers.

I would probably punch my laptop before getting the chance to post on here.

Nope, I was thinking of Peter Warrick.

He was not much bigger than Tavon, coming out in his class he was considered undersized as well.

Fantastic open-field runner after the catch, was impossible to tackle 1-on-1 for DBs. I make the comparison because Tavon is the closest thing at WR to Warrick in the open field since... Warrick. He also moonlighted as a PR/KR like Tavon, and was considered the most exciting player in the country his last year in Tallahassee.

Most people don't remember how good Peter Warrick was at Florida State, but he was electrifying every time he touched the ball. Shame injuries caught up with him in the pros and he was stuck in the black hole known as Cincinnati.

Peter Warrick was good with the ball in his hands, but he wasn't really great at getting open. He didn't do well with all the little nuances a receiver needs to constantly get open in the NFL. You can hide that stuff in college and look great. Not so much in the NFL.

In terms of physical attributes, he's a lot like DeSean Jackson, but the way he will be used I think is more in line with Percy Harvin. Will be interesting to see if he is physical enough to be the same type of player as Harvin, especially if Minny drafts him.

I agree more Percy Harvin than DeSean Jackson. He has best cut ability in this draft. I did little video on him here: http://youtu.be/L15Jn_H5PFE

And if he does, most think the Rams will take him soon after that.

He was also 5'11" 193 lbs.

Best comparison is that he is Desean Jackson without the attitude mixed with Percy Harvin without the Migrains.

The only question will be durability, but he truly is the most electricfying player in college football. You can line him up at RB, WR, KR, he can even sell popcorn if you want him too.

Jerry is having wet dreams thinking about how many jerseys he can sell if he drafts this kid.

Warrick did have a lot of moves that look like Tavon's.
That vid brought back some memories.

Tavon can be used in the run game and runs better routes, but there are some simularities

I remember a few weeks back watching something on Sports Center about Austin. The guy that was talking about him mentioned that 14 of the 15 TDs he scored this last season would have counted in 2-hand touch leagues. The guy is elusive as a mofo. I think the best comparison for him would be Reggie Bush. He is the most dynamic player I have seen in a very long time. He can do it all. Run, catch, return, etc.

No it wouldn't, there are plenty of people who want just that. The "Oline Only" crowd would be pretty upset though.

I am in the Tavon Crowd.
I am in the Oline Crowd.
I am in the DT Crowd.

Not really in the Safety Crowd though. :D

I want a good player that is good value at the spot we pick in.

People are already ramping up and ready to complain if a player they want does not get picked instead of looking at the draft value, rating and if the player can help the team.

Get a good player, don't complain, even if you like other players better.

Of course..that is easier said than done as there is a chance of me going off the deep end with a terrible terrible pick.:laugh2:
