Ferguson is a budding star. Schoon is getting better and better. We are fine.

That 2nd-round pick will forever be a head-scratcher.

Needed an O-lineman there.

TE Jake Ferguson balled out vs Eagles !!

After tonight vs Eagles, there is no question TE Jake Ferguson has clearly replaced departed Dalton Schultz as
a go to lead TE; 7 catches for 91 yards - including a 40 yard catch and run.

Even last year, Fergy was already showing signs that he could potentially replace Schultz as a starting lead TE.
And now Dak totally believes and trusts him as such.

Fergy is showing a knack for pass game, a feel for zone coverages, ability to hit the middle seam, and occasionally beat certain
coverages.

.So this although more still puzzles me as why we draft a blocking TE in the 2nd round in Luke Schoonmaker ?
What was it about Ferguson's game that they felt so uncomfortable to be forced to draft a TE ?
And yes, if Lions TE Sam Importa were available, all reports we were poised to select him ahead of Schoon.
Quality depth and that is no new concept for all top teams...financial alternatives as well as trade values included.

This, I was stunned and shocked for the rest of the draft, on not picking an OL with that 2nd round pick. It was like we are going to force this pick and then the first 2 picks being Michigan picks, Lord save me!

The FO was DEAD SET on taking a TE early in the draft.

Nothing was going to stop them.

Just like they were dead set on taking cb’s early a few years ago, and in come Kelvin drive by Joseph and Nahshon Wright.
When this team drafts BPA they are great but the few times in the last 10 years or so that they were dead set on a position it has backfired.

Not in this year's window. When our current left tackle, Smith moves on, another player via a strong draft position will be on the table then. A type of player addition is pursued.

Agree, all the talk about at the time, was them taking the TE the bills took and seen like when the bills moved up and got him, instead of doing the smart thing for the team and sticking with winning the trenches, the Clampetts doing Clampetts things takes a TE anyways.

they panicked after there was a run on TEs. they didn't want to miss out so they pulled the trigger early

Yeah, what kind of drafting is it even? I mean, it's not BPA and it's not need. What do you even call it?
