I still maintain the stance that our biggest needs are mostly on the defensive side of the ball... I would rank our needs heading into the 2016 season as follows...
DT - Hayden hasn't been terrible, he 's average, but an elite 1-Tech would do wonders for this defense
FS - I say go hard after ball-hawking Dallas native Tashaun Gipson, if not him then Weddle, but I want a proven commodity at this position once and for all
LB - Hope for the best with Lee and McClain, but given both of their past issues, we really need some more quality depth at LB
DE - keep Hardy, and hope for the best with Gregory and Lawrence, but don't be afraid to use your top pick on a DeWare type pass-rusher... The DL has shown a lot of potential, but they still haven't shown the type of consistency to make me believe that we're pretty set for the future along the DL
SS - Church is decent against the run, but he still leaves a lot to be desired
CB - keep Carr and/or Claiborne.. Jones is not physical enough to play FS, he's a CB of sorts... And with Scandrick coming back you're not looking so bad at CB in 2016...
RB - Draft a couple of RB's with differing styles in rounds 3-7...
QB - We need two QB's, one to be the backup (almost impossible to find a vet that is much better than Cassel), and one to be the "QB in grooming".... If you really love a QB with the top pick, then by all means take him, but you better be right, because no QB Dallas picks will play in 2016, and we might miss out on a player that would've propelled a Romo led Cowboys team to a championship in 2016 or 2017... QB is that pressing of a need, because like it or not, all of our eggs are in the Tony Romo basket at through the 2016 season... Backup QB is more important to the immediate future than is the heir apparent QB, and good luck finding a veteran QB available that will be much if any better than Cassel...
WR - Treat Bryce Butler as a 2016 draft pick that arrived early... Sign a mid-level veteran WR, some pretty good ones usually become available each year... It's not time to spend an early round pick on a WR that will probably need multiple seasons to reach his potential
OT - OL and DL never cease to be positions in need of churning
