I see that on paper. But I believe he moves in nickel situations.

Going to be hard keeping Parsons or Cox off the field.

Neal to safety makes sense to me. Especially, in the nickel which is more of a passing slanted scheme. I like Neal’s experience as a safety there more than Cox.

It’ll be an interesting thing to watch. It could hit or miss, for sure. If he does work out though, it’d be a pretty big hit I think.

Certainly worth a shot at that point.

come on man..they have been trying to turn people into safties for a decade...instead of spending quality draft picks for a good one already

Strong Safety or Free?

It’s hard to tell but it doesn’t look like he has the change of direction to be a Free.

I wonder how Wilson would do as a free safety, it seems were loaded at strong.

He did play safety here and there in college so it's not a foreign position for him to possibly transition to in the pros

Listening to the Day 3 press conference Stephen just mentioned the team envisions starting Israel Mukuama out at safety. They believe he has the size (mentioned weight) and balls skills to play in that role.

Outside of Parsons, Mukuama may be my favorite pick on defense this draft class. That said, I'm not sure he has the sideline-to-sideline speed to play single high safety. I think he has a role in certain coverage units playing press man or in the red zone. We'll see. He's intriguing.

When you watch his cutups you see his lengthy clearly playing a role in creating turnovers. Too tired now, but will cutup some gifs later.

He was originally expected to play Safety in college.

He was somewhat highly rated after the 2019 season but struggled with injury issues in 2020 then opted out of the final 3 games after the head coach was fired.

Right after last year's draft, this guy projected him to the 1st round.

Injuries are part of what makes drafting so difficult. Players that we want sometimes have medical issues that we don't know of that keep them from being taken earlier or at all. Then, there are players we don't want or downgrade, not understanding how much injuries affected their game. The hard part is knowing how much was due to injury and how much was just due to offenses figuring out how to beat them.

From what I can tell, I think Cox is better in coverage than Neal. Neal is better playing the run, though.

Parsons is a 3 down LB and will start from the start. No doubt whatsoever.
