Terence Newman

He Has Given Up Big Plays But Every Corner Gets Beat But T New Is Very Very Good . Sooo Good They Dont Throw His Side But 10 % Of The Time . We Would Be In Bad Shape On D Without This Great Player . Imho

But one thing that Newman is not is a playmaker!
How is he supposed to live up to those other guys when teams rarely throw at him?

Adam is about to back up your opinion with facts. Above average.......... Yeah Right. Any corner that hasn't allowed NO TD'S in 24 games and one bogus PI call at the same time and less than 45% attempts against is above average? Wow have you noticed Hall catching alot of tip passes I noticed last year I was like man he's always at the right place but it doesn't mean he played better actually I'm sure he hasn't

And it was TO that scored that 80+ yard TD against Bailey last year when Philly lost to Denver. They were 1 on 1, and TO put a move on him, and he was gone.

Sorry buddy but I think I have decided to live. We can beat that horse up until its blue in the face that newman hasnt given up a touchdown but we are talking about a matter of opinion. TO ME, I think hall and baily are better corners. Newman is a very good corner but there must be a reason why his peers havent voted him in the pro bowl and hall and baily have been.

I love all the things that Newman brings to the table. And I am not a big stats guys either. Hell if just by stats then Newman would have made the pro bowl last year because not giving up a td should be the one stat that stand out for any corner.

I feel Newman will serve his team better by becoming more of a playmaker. Yes I heard you about the amount of throws that comes his way but still I want a little more.

He is not in the same class as Hall and Bailey and you guys know it. both of those guys have been to the pro bowl and Hall is just in his third season!

There is no way I take Newman over baily or hall. But I like him as the third best in the league. That's a good argument although Ty law and Detha o'neal both got 10 ints to newman's 3, but hey what are stats?

Put the Crack Pipe down................now slowly back up

blame fantasy football. geeks now think they are nfl experts because of stats.

Wow! I didnt mean to start a fight but let's be honest about Newman. I am not discounting the fact that he has not allowed a TD this season. That in itself is a remarkable feat that deserves honors. But one thing that Newman is not is a playmaker! Like I said Newman has proven to be our best corner but we need him to be more of a playmaker. He shook off the sophomore jinks (when he was really bad) and now has shown the skills that made him a top pick.

Youre killin me...first you make it sound like he sucks, then say Hall is better cause he went to the pro bowl, back to saying he was bad 1 year, then hes 3rd best in the NFL, back to Law and O'Neal being better cause the have more picks?

Can you say flip flop?

does anyone agree with the formation i suggested?

The problem is, the key stats for cornerbacks (such as catches, yards and touchdowns allowed) are a well-kept secret. Most people (including players) only know about interceptions, and they're just about the only highlights shown on ESPN for cornerbacks, too.

Personally, I wouldn't want a cornerback to allow 400 more yards and four more touchdown catches just so he could get three more interceptions. But doing that would give him a better chance of making the Pro Bowl, apparently, because interceptions are a glamor stat.

i agree i want a bigger playmaker out of him too..but hes not getting the oppurtunity...getting the ball throwing ur way 4-5 times a game...dosent give u much of an oppurtunity....

on 1 of the sacks the cowboys had this year....i believe it was agianst the Commanders? well they replayed it..n brunell was gonna let the ball go before getting sacked n was gonna throw in newmans direction..and newman was in perfect positon n would have walked in the endzone

but ike i said 4-5 passes thrown ur way dosent help especially if there not deep bombs...or anything that the reciver can barely even make a play on

yea its real annoying....i feel like slapping people when they say people are the best just because of stats...but never mention..how many tds are giving up constantly..how many drops...things like that

like my friend said "quincy morgan is so ****ing good" ***...im like "did u see him play for us??"

or that Deltha Oneil...is 1 of the best corners in the league:laugh2:

the only corner i can see that is probally worth picking over newman is Chris Mcalister...and even he has given up a td this year...but he he dosent make it a habbit of getting burnt..n then making a play

exactly....Like Lito Sheppard...2 years ago....people thought he was so good cuz he had 5 ints...but never showed how many times he got burnt..or gave up a td...or how many passes were thrown out his way

I like Newman but he still has alot to prove. He's not in the Deangelo Hall or Champ Baily class but again, he's solid. Probably would be better with a consistent pass rush.

did you just put Deangelo hall and champ bailey together? wooooow i didn't belive it before but champ has really fallen that far hasn't he? no wonder the Commanders traded him
