Is this where we rue the money, but had the deal not been done later rue not signing him?
If you are unsure on what to do then just rue. It will get you more likes then excitement on here.

He’s an elite run blocking tackle, top 5 in the league. His pass pro needs to improve to justify that contract though. Good news is he’s still very early in his career.

Holy cow that’s a lot of money for an alright RT.

But you pay to keep him
you pay for decent linemen or you end up starting the Josh Balls of the world for next to nothing.

In what bizarro world is this JAG worth $17M/yr?

Zack Martin should start a new holdout immediately.

Agreed.

Steele's agent probably held Jerry at gun point since he knows Jerry has no one else of quality who can step right in and play well at Right Tackle.
Nailed Jerry, but we got bookend Tackles for the foreseeable future.
What is the price?
Daks future is the proof in the pudding.
Jerry is building everything he can possibly do to solidify confidence in this offense.

Woah. Did not know Steele is already 26.7 years old. I don't know how much more "ascending" he will be doing.
Not as worried about age when it comes to O linemen. age is something you worry more with skill positions and defenders that have to cover.

Starting OL by the end of 2023

LT-Tyler Smith
LG-Bass
C-Biadasz
RG-Martin
RT-Steele

And that will be the best OL Dallas has had since 2014. Sticky this post

The five years start next year, so 2024-28. However, I think the SB starts getting prorated starting this year (2023-28) but am not sure about that.
I believe that's correct.

Terence Steele will get his signing bonus now, and it will count over the next 5 seasons, meaning the last year of his extension currently has no signing bonus. The team will likely lower his RFA tender salary, $4.304M, to the 3rd year minimum, which should see minimal change to his 2023 cap number when you factor in the new signing bonus proration.

The Dallas Cowboys get 6 years of player control for $50M guaranteed.

Unless a social moaner first, this is strong proof of directional and Cowboy progress. Yet another without age and end of career type injuries.

Zack says he is the best run blocker he has played next too. Always good to have OL positions settled.
My first thought, if Martin days that that says a lot
