In fairness, the eulogy about Tyron wasnt tied to his play but rather the fact he just can't get through a season anymore without missing games.
i understand. that's what makes me happy that he's available when a lot of folks thought we should dump him.

Again, expectations for Steele off.

He's the same player he was before the injury as a passrusher. ZM is no longer getting movement in the run game either.

Steele is not the player he was last year and Zach did his job despite how much you want it to be otherwise

Almost got Dak's knees blown apart on that one play. When I saw it live, for a split second my heart stopped.
Yeah. I had visions of past years when our QB got injured by a OL blowing it badly.

Wrong. He's less effective as a run blocker but he's the same as he has always been as a pass blocker. Martin has been fine, yes, but he's not generating the movement he typically has.

It's not what I want, it's what exists.

The staff helped him out; and he played better. Two things missing from the last time.
Chaz green was so horrible and the fact they never tried to help him out was a true indictment of the staff
Ditto here.

He is what he is. A backup level player.
Team would not have re-signed to a lucrative long term contract if they thought he was a mere backup player.

Before his ACL injury, he was really playing at a high level and only surrendered one lone sack before he
went down. That performance and development is what brought along that new contract.

The goal now is to get him back to that pre-ACL injury and playing form.
It's a wait & see matter right now.

actually when you look at his the whole game he still was the weak link he played better but he still didn't play great this man was the one causing most of the pressure on Prescott even last night I mean even in the run game he got the big holding call he he still not his old self yet I hope he's on his way but he still was the worst offensive lineman on the field for us last night... If you watch really close you'd see that 78 was still getting beat more than he was winning Prescott has just been a lot better at moving in the pocket and escaping a lot of that he's making the lineman look better all of them when they make mistakes he's still having to run a lot move a lot he has not had the time to sit back in the pocket and hit his back foot and just go through his reads without taking off....

So was he better than game one against the Eagles yes but he still has a long way to go to impress me.
He was going against Philly's version of Parsons. Reddick is a good pass rusher and Steele really only allowed him one sack. The second came when Dak scrambled to Reddick's side and then took the sack instead of just tossing the ball out of bounds because we wanted to keep the clock running.

That means nothing to me.

Let me let you in on a secret. This front office makes mistakes with personnel. Paying Steele like he's a top RT is one of them.

If you can't see that Steele isn't a quality starter you don't know what you're looking at.

..he did play better. Philly has good D up front.

Dak was under some duress, but nothing like last game.

So Terrance did his job. Could he improve? ....of course.

Steele still looks stiff on that knee, like he can't bend as he needs too, and doesn't trust it to push off on.
Most of his problems seem to be that he gets off balance due to not putting pressure on the knee Ala the first sack he gave up last night.
But, he's a battler and is working thru it, and the worst seems to be behind him.
I also think Martin is playing injured, hence him not being the roadgrader he usually is.
I want an OT/OG in the firstvround of the draft, and Tyron back for a final swan song. Maybe sign him for 2 years and have him switch out to swing tackle for his last year ?

That Reddick sack could have ended Dak's season. A couple of inches lower and Daks knees would have been blown up

If anything the front office may need to re-direct how they are committing to post ACL guys with these
new contracts.

Steele prior to his ACL injury was surely playing like a top RT.

Yeah sure
I would not have paid Steele until after this season to see how he came back from the injury - another Jerry screwup
That being said he was good enough last year and frankly anyone trying to claim he is blocking the same on pass plays this year as last year is a football idiot

Well he was going to be a FA so you couldn't really do that unless you wanted to give him the franchise tag and actually pay him more. You should probably have considered that before calling me an idiot lol

If that makes you feel better for being wrong on the player.
