In 2010 Dez Bryant had seven receptions over the last four weeks.

In 2013, Terrance Williams had 11 receptions over the last four weeks.

Dez had a better second season than Williams, but also didn't have anyone really to take targets away from him. He also happened to be on those teams where we were happy passing 50 times a game.

The only games in which Terrance Williams has had a reception, he hasn't even had a target. You can'y possibly think that purely because of his own ability (or inability as you wish to believe).

This argument is pretty ridiculous and it's been proven to be on just about every page in this thread. Haters gon' hate, but TWill is a good, if not great second wide receiver.

Name a team with four high level receiving options, where the #2 wide receiver was usually the third or fourth option, and that receiver put up better numbers.

Different teams have different circumstances. They don't operate in a vacuum.

You keep saying that Williams is the 4th option. That simply isn't true. In reality it is an excuse.

Brandon La'Fell - 953 yards, 7 tds
Brandon Marshall - 721 yards, 8 tds
Marques Colston - 902 yards, 5 tds
Keenan Allen - 783 yards, 4 tds
Reggie Wayne - 779 yards, 2 tds
Jordan Matthews - 872 yards, 8 tds
Reuben Randle - 938, 3 tds
Jarvis Landry - 758 yards, 5 tds
James Jones, 666 yards, 6 tds

He struggles to get open. Another binary response. No one is saying he isn't good. No one is saying they hate him, but a great second wide receiver? He isn't.

Brandon LaFell is their number one wideout and second option to a TE who is hurt half the time in an offense that threw the ball 150 times more than us.
Brandon Marshall was Chicago's 1B option, even with Jeffrey coming on strong in an offense that through the ball several hundred times more than us.
The Saints threw the ball 300 times more than the Cowboys.
Colts, the same thing. Luck through the ball exceedingly more than Romo. Almost 200 times more I believe.

You literally went and pulled up stats for some of the most pass happy teams in the league and tried to compare them. That's a pretty self serving way to make your argument. Further more, none of those teams has an established true number one wide reciever.

If teams threw the ball 200-300 times more than us, it only makes sense that all their receivers would have better numbers.

Next.

And no one is saying he is a great #2. Hell, even I have said he might split time with someone else this season.

We are saying your expectations are unrealistic.

Actually that is Edelmen and Gronk played the whole year.

So now you elevate Marshall because Terrance Williams is more like a WR2B based on your reasoning.

I am elevating Marshall? In what world is he not a #1, if not 1B option? That's not elevation. That's reality. Something you clearly have a hard time grasping. You're making comparisons that bare absolutely no merit. Comparing our offense to teams who threw the ball hundreds of times more is about as self serving and ridiculous as it gets.

I don't think Williams is great. That was an exaggeration. I regret that. I do think he is good. I do think your expectations are based of unrealistic comparisons that would be IMPOSSIBLE for this team to match. I don't even WANT the Cowboys to have a second wide out catching 70 passes. That means we gave up on pounding the rock and we are back to 8-8. You can keep your Mike Martz agenda. I'll take the plan that looked so good last year.

2013

Games with TDs -- 151 yards, 27 yards, 71 yards, 64 yards, 21 yards

2014

Games with TDs -- 50 yards, 32 yards, 77 yards, 71 yards, 18 yards, 52 yards, 92 yards, 38 yards

So, out of 13 career games in which he has scored a touchdown, he has had at least 50 yards in eight of them. Eight out of 13 is hardly "a couple of games."

2013

Length of TDs -- 82 yards, 15 yards, 9 yards, 60 yards, 21 yards

2014

Length of TDs -- 2 yards, 12 yards, 6 yards, 23 yards, 43 yards, 18 yards, 9 yards, 43 yards, 76 yards, 8 yards, 38 yards

Out of 16 career touchdowns, eight came outside of the red zone. In the past two years, he is tied for eighth in the NFL in TD catches from OUTSIDE the red zone. The only players ahead of him are Demaryius Thomas (12), Antonio Brown (12), DeSean Jackson (11), Dez Bryant (11), Jordy Nelson (10 ), A.J. Green (9) and T.Y. Hilton (9). He is tied with Josh Gordon and ahead of every other player in the NFL.

His six TD catches of at least 38 yards is tied for third in the NFL, behind only Jordy Nelson (9) and DeSean Jackson (8).

So claiming that all he does is catch cheap TDs in the red zone is completely erroneous and, frankly, utterly hilarious.

Yeah you are proving my point. Look at some of those yards. You see a couple of games where he has 30+ and not even 100+ I might add, and you get all excited

You are good at cap numbers, and all that stuff.

The truth is T-Will is trash. I would love to see the excuse you make for the bum this year. I'll be ready to tag you, don't hide or ignore me when I do. Also don't tell me it's just the offense when he produces like a bum, game 1 vs the Giants, where he notoriously always almost gives a nice Bagel.

A lot of the teams you think pass to much, ran nearly as much as we did but were more balanced in their approach.

Cowboy fans complaining about TWilliams are being ridiculous.

There is nothing else to say.

You're right, Terrance Williams is the greatest 2nd receiver in the league. I concede all arguments.

It's about time, because you've been proven wrong repeatedly in this thread. It's getting very embarrassing.

Williams' numbers drop both in yards and touchdowns in the second half of the year. Saying there are a lot of options on offense doesn't explain why numerous teams have more productive WR2s, who also have many options on offense.

He was productive in the beginning of the year in his rookie year and was also in his second year. He disappeared in both years, and there was no running game to blame that on his first year.

Did you see him in the playoffs?
