Crazy how a team wasn't willing to give up a 2nd for a starting RT. Have to wonder how healthy he really is. Cause a healthy Steele shouldvebeen snatched up.
That’s a valid question, but I don’t think that’s the primary reason why other teams may be apprehensive
(We)Dal knows how Steel has developed into a decent RT bc we’ve followed him every step of the way. Other teams maybe see a very good “Swing T” that has starting experience, yet still could polish his skills.
And other teams would have to ask, “Why is Dal rumored to be moving him to Guard?
(Side note: Was moving Steele to Guard just a ploy to create questions about Steele..hmmm
)
That said, Any team giving up a 2nd pick for Steele may feel like that’s a gamble, exp considering there’s no guarantees that he signs long term after this last year. And let’s not forget the going rate for Tackles these days.
The OL talent is said to be relatively deep this year, possibly snagging decent Tackle talent within the first 3 rounds. Teams prob feel they can find similar talent in the draft at considerably cheaper value via a Rookie deal. For those same reasons, that’s why Dal placed a 2nd tender when many expected a 1st rd tender to secure his services.
For the record, I believe Steele is a very good Tackle also.. I just don’t think some teams value him like Dal does.
