1) WE have an excellent 3rd WR who could be a #2 (We do not have anyone with the skills of T.O. or Glenn)

2) Our 2006 Pass Defense sucked. When you are ranked # 24 in the NFL, you don't get very far. We need to draft Defense. (Thats why we brought in Wade ..... who plays an aggresive defense that does not give a WR all day to run from the secondary)

3) This team needs a blue-chip right corner, to eventually replace Henry. (Henry is a great second corner ...... and is 2-3 years younger than either of our starting wideouts)

4) Our Pass Offense rocked last year. # 5 in the NFL.(We have not drafted a offensive player in the first round since the 90's ..... and our 2 starting wide receivers are getting old)

I was about to be amazed that you were talking about something other than your broken record topic of dissing Anthony Henry.

I am so naive.

I was shocked when Jerry paid the 5 million dollar roster bonus for Glenn. Granted they restructured the deal to make it more palatable, but I really was kind of  that they didn't waive him. I'm glad we didn't. I really believe that this is the perfect year to draft a rookie WR in the 1st and let them see the work ethic of Owens and Glenn and ease into the role.

A blue-chip WR. And then many happy returns for Romo, Witten et. al for the next 5 or more years.

I have been wondering since jerry and al davis are such good friends what it would take at some point if the raiders take johnson for porter.

Probably never happen but I wonder if we got to june and he wanted out what it would take?

If the cowboys' were to get Jerry Porter, that would be incredible...we could get rid of T.O.; While Jerry is a malcontent also, he is younger than T.O. (though he is already 29) I think he would be willing to shut the f up if it meant a legit chance of going to the big game... I read reports last year of Shell and the staff benching him during a practie session and eventually the season when they put Porter on defense, and him not even knowing how to play the position, picked the qb off successive times.

Porter was furious that he was going to be put into such an anemic offense, to be sure. But I think you would be furious also if you knew that you could be a top-ten reciever in the league, but have never had a qb good enough to let you even eclipse th 1,000 yard mark or help reach your full potential. If we got Porter, we would have a faster version of T.O., and almost as strong;we could also skip getting a wideout in the first and let us hope than Austin/Hurd develop and we could draft defense in the first

this stance has Parcells written all over it...I think he has convinced the Cowboys that WRs can be found in any round of the draft.

Actually, history suggests the same thing. The two biggest 1st round draft busts are QBs and WRs.

Yes, they CAN be found in ANY round of the draft. Jerry Rice anyone? How about Marques Colston? Terrell Owens? Steve Smith?

Yeah, we MUST draft a WR in round one or we are doomed!

I hope you are. You've invested too much bile into this. Way too much.

True, I agree...If we got a wideout ina trade with a certain team *cough, Raiders, cough* we could skipa BPA, I am, however, starting to get ciced about Jarret, he is raw, but he is a playmaker.

Agreed! However, Wade's schemes will not work if we do not get a great pass rusher in the draft (SPENCER!!) Look at San Diego, thier corners' were terrible, and Brady still was throwing picks to them in the champ. game because he was flustered by pressure....we need that

I remember those earlier posts. The guy had chrondromalacia which is nothing serious. It's not 'bone on bone'. It won't progress into anything serious. When I say serious I mean debilitating. It's only inflammation behind the kneecap and it's an overuse problem.

Anti-inflammatories and rest and it's gone. I remember no reports of Glenn's knees swelling nor seeing him limping. These latter signs are from more serious problems. Chrondromalacia can at times have mild swelling in the bursa below the patella.

Despite posts to the contrary the Dallas organization is not stupid. They would not give a huge roster bonus to a player with bad wheels.

It's a non-issue. Glenn is a steady performer. We're very fortunate to have the guy on the team.

This is real. And how much anyone wanna bet he's been underplaying it just to make it to this spring so he could collect that big bonus he had coming? Bottom line, he's always been a Tuna, not a Cowboy, and never has been- his loyalties are no longer with this team. It would not surprise me in the least if that's exactly what he's been doing and come sometime around preseason we hear he's "aggrivated" it some more and won't beable to play. This player is about as manipulative as they come. And I've been saying it all along, with Parcells gone, suddenly the "reins" have been set down also. Troubles coming and it's number is 83.

In all reality, a WR with #1 is exactly what we should be doing. We can count on 81 for a year or two more, but I wouldn't hold any stock in 83 now that his only reason for being here is gone, not to mention he's never played well as a "#2"- it's just not in his mentality- and his looming injured knees. With Big Bill not here anylonger to keep him in place, honestly, what is to stop him from behaving in the exact same manor that got him booted from both the Pats and the Packers? Do people honsestly think he's changed? With TO, he can benefit greatly from being here and behaving, with Terry I just don't predict the same outcome, nor do I believe that he believes he couldn't just as easily get a job on another team and more than likely be a #1, his greatest heart's desire. The only reason he signed with us last year and didn't go the way of Keyshawn was because Bill was here to coddle him, period. I'm telling yall, this year's headcase-ache will be Terry Glenn, no question about it. Let's just hope he doesn't manipulate TO into the drama also. Better yet, cause he will attempt to, let's hope TO doesn't fall hook, line 'n sinker, into this trap that's about to be laid.

Ignorant.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but I do not believe that. Terry Glenn knows that if he goes to another team he may not be going to a team primed for the playoffs; He isn't getting any younger. Same with Terrell Owens, he is a pariah, but he is putting that one the backburner because he knows this team has a chance to win big.

Hostile, I agree with you about 5 mil we are giving to Glenn, but I would rather have both Glenn and TO on the team than not, Glenn doesn't drop passes often and is reliable in the clutch, and TO's ability prevented alot of drives from stopping due to him breaking tackles and getting the first. I think we should get a wideout via trade on draft day. Who knows.

I agree with what you're saying about needing both Glenn and TO. But I think Glenn had a better YAC average than TO did last year.

TO really better pick it up. That's if he actually gets that roster bonus. I think he'll be here but I'm not certain by long shot.
