Terry Glenn's last year?

You cannot compare Key to Glenn. Glenn is a speed receiver that stretches defense. Key is replaceable. It is hard to fing Glenn's speed. He will be here next year!

People always get massively confused regarding ages and weights around here.

Per AdamJT2000bot

Its not like that would be a $5 million dollar hit. If it was prorated for the max length allowable by the CBA (which I think is 5 years), its just another $1 million hit.

Assuming I understand that right (and AdamJT can correct me if I didn't), that isn't too hard to swallow.
good deal, not to much money, no big cap hit next year contrary to some's belief. why would we not like this deal?

i don't have the details but some football fanatical friends here at work said glenns new contract gives him a $5mil bonus next year if he's still on the roster. we wouldn't keep keyshawn for a mere $1mil but we're gonna keep glenn for $5mil more?

load 'em up - it's superbowl or bust it would seem.

My first thought after reading the contract information Adam provided.
We are going to draft a WR with our 1st round pick.
We paid Glenn $2mil this year to be quiet.

Did he get hurt last year? I must have missed it!

great - now show me in his entire career where he went back to back years w/o missing gametimes.

some people seem in a rush to be sarcastic they leave things like common sense at the door.

No thanks, I don't live in the past, but apparently you do. Why don't you tell us how you can predict the future?

And, make sure you pick up that "common sense" on your way out, OK?

Since 2000, he has missed 13 games because of injury. 10 came in one season. It's not really been an issue recently, other than his freak injury in 04.

That's true...and, hey, this is football! Injuries happen, especially to player of Glenn's stature and aggressive play...

There are very few of any kind of football player that will go the entire season with out some injury or the other.

What I don't understand about not wanting Glenn, or barking about him getting an injury is, would someone rather have the recievers that the RedStinks just signed, or Terry Glenn?

I know what my choice would be...:)

And I can't believe we got him for a 6th rounder off Green Bay.

You know, I forgot about that? Pretty good value so far, I would say! That was one of the Tuna decisions, most likely, right?

Yes, I think so, given BP's history with him at NE.

Wish we could/would take J. Walker off GB's hands as well! :)

sigh - why people seem to need to attack, i'm not quite sure.

people who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. since it's pretty clear he's NEVER gone back to back years w/o a problem it IS a legitimate concern.

and it's kinda funny for someone who doesn't live in the past to have a name that glorifies ours.

would it be to not live in the past while you sport a name of the past accomplishments?

ice, Glenn is coming off a career year in which he was being paid below his market value, he deserved the raise, and besides, key was due a roster bonus, not Glenn, which is why he was cut, if that wasn't the case, I'm sure he'd still be a Cowboy since we tried to bring him back, just didnt' want to pay him that 1 mil bonus

If Glenn has the same year as last year, then it's like signing a free agent next year with fair market value. Glenn,Speed WR,32 yrs, 4 yr contract with 5 mil signing bonus. If he is injured or didn't have the same season as last year, Cowboys will simply cut him or re-negotiate base on the options availble at that time

"did he get hurt last year? i musta missed it..." totally blew off my point and was instantly sarcastic - so yes, i pointed out that you were in a rush to be sarcastic cause you were.

no he didn't get hurt but that wasn't my question for ONE year - but his overall career. i'm glad he had a "breakout" year. but odds are he won't do it again. if he does, great. but signing 31+ year old WR's to 5 year contracts do worry me a bit esp. when that WR has NEVER had back to back years w/o missing a game due to injury - FROM what i understand and have heard.

now either show me where he has done this or just agree he never has - but i don't see the need to be in a "rush" to be a smartarse vs. just talk back.

no, i understand this, but if we'll cut key for a $1mil bonus, why keep glenn for a $5mil bonus? *IF* we can rework one why couldn't we rework the other?

i'm glenn came off a career year. will he do it again? maybe. did he deserve more $? maybe. i'm not even arguing that. i *AM* arguing that *IF* he's due $5mil for being on the team next year then i doubt he'll be here.
