Just guessing here, but I see no way he gets past the Titans.......isn't Vrabel his former position coach?

Just seen this ........so who knows

The drop off is attributed to scheme change in Houston. His play was worthy of a big contract before.

I agree with this, but I think on a 1 year deal, we'd be the beneficiaries of a restricted FA tag on him. So, basically, we'd be able to see what he does while Houston effectively pays for it.

I need to know more before I jump to get him. Bring him in. Find out what his mental state of mind is. Run him through his paces. Then you'll know what to do. We know what he's done so I give him a tryout. He could be a good get.

exactly. it certainly wont hurt, easy cut if needed too.

Well, at this point of the season, there's no need to cut him anyway. He'd be on a 1 year deal with the Texans paying his contract. All we have to do is sit back and let him show what he can do. I think we'd get the comp pick if he does go elsewhere after the season anyway, so we're essentially picking up a rental to obtain a potentially deeper playoff run and an extra draft pick later while paying next to nothing.

Why on earth would we want to elevate our run defense going into the postseason knowing full well that teams can run on us at will?

This is basically a free transfer that only costs a roster spot while giving us someone who can help the run and get us the comp pick as needed. It's a perfect signing just when we need it. Jerry would be a fool to not take this if the waivers make it to us.

With only $275,000 to be on the hook for 2021 and no guaranteed money left in his agreement, teams would be foolish not to put a waivers claim in on him. Release him after the 2021 season and owe him nothing or, redo his deal when you claim him.
