This guy was claimed off waivers by someone ahead of us right?

So the only way we had access to him was via trade and we gave up a 7th rounder. I'm not exactly crying about it, we had to do something with Poe gone and Hill out for the season. This is a low cost option.
True. There were lower cost options involving no draft capital. It’s a waste of a pick unless he makes the team after this year.

I'm honestly not mad about giving up a 7th. I mean, 7th round picks are basically that pick that says congratulations you got drafted, but barely and you may as well be a UDFA with your chances of making the team.

Usually that’s true. On the other hand, Ratliff was a 7th round pick.

I really think the team should be using its 7th round picks on a specialty player. (Punter, kicker, Long snapper). They tend to go undrafted so you can get almost your pick of the litter for a 7th round pick.

Exactly the respect and attention they pay to the center of the defense (DT, MLB, S). Shore those up and the defense will improve.

They wanted a guy who weighed 335 to 340 in Poe and now they got one.
Seen lots of OMG they traded off a 7th for this guy that was on waivers... umm yea because waiver claims aren't guaranteed and they badly needed a stopgap NT.

This guy is an absolute monster..I've seen videos of him playing backyard ball vs his two sons...legit looks like a man amongst boys
I just hope the rest of the D Line doesn't hold a grudge and not support him because of their love of Poe

Did the Texans' Front Office start laughing after the phone call was over?

11 days ago and we send a draft pick?

Good Lord we are inept.
Things like this are why this team is what it is. Lol, Texans get a draft pick for a guy that never even suited up for them, SMH only Dallas could do something like this. Now watch us release him after a game or two.

When all you have in the cupboard is trash, one more cracked cup isn't going to do much harm. This team is toast for at least 3 years. Jerry has loads of those bad
contracts to unload. Dallas, welcome to the new cleveland brownies.

There has. To be a legit reason they gave a 7th for this guy

Simple.

We always play ourselves. I’m sure we could’ve found several guys on the streets or practice squads

again I will reiterate there has to be a legit reason that the coaching and management teams saw to spend a 7th on this guy....I’m going to assume as fans we are not privy to it

but I’m sure there will be dozens more responses just like yours stating it’s bc of our front offices ineptitude or bc we have a penchant for pain and losing...etc. I’m going to stick with there’s something we don’t know being decided by football people that know much more than us

The continual idiocy of the Jones family makes a very legitimate case for the NFL's need to drug test owners.

LOL -- all they'd find in Jerry is traces of Johnny Walker Blue Label and an ego the size of Texas! :D
