Texas Rangers 2012 Thread

Dempster is probably gonna be too expensive for a guy that is a bottom of the rotation starter on a contender, that's why they were quick to re-sign Colby Lewis

Yu
Harrison
Holland
Lewis

and then hopefully Martin Perez continues to improve and wins the 5th spot.

Being a Mets fan, I don't like any other teams, but what Oakland is doing is very, very impressive, especially what they had to work with starting the season out.

You are looking at our World Series representative today fellas.

^Agreed. The Moneyball movie hit theaters last year and now they're the best team in MLB with the 2nd lowest payroll...damn good year for that franchise. Moneyball is back

Balfour looks like he has Turrets out their...

Throwing down f-bombs and c-bombs between pitches...

This is for venting purposes only!

Rangers=EPIC CHOKERS!

I don't feel better but it helped alittle.

hamilton has officially checked out as a ranger..he won't be back and the rangers will be better off for it.

there is no way we are even considering of Re-signing him after everything he has pulled this year.

Any word on the pitching matchup on Friday? If its already been posted, sorry

So... we still going to defend Josh Hamilton around here, or is it starting to become clear to everybody that this dude should not be getting max money.

Has slumped all season.

Has had off the field issues

Took off during the stretch run for "injury" related issues.

Nonchalant Outfield play

No plate discipline.

...but he hits a ton of homeruns, so I guess we gotta take the bad with the little bit of good he brings to our lineup.

It's clear right now we are not playing with any fire. They haven't been having fun since game 6 of last year's world series.. maybe after today and being pretty much pegged down a notch, and left for dead... the team will finally start playing with house money again. That's all we can really hope for honestly because it's not looking good for the team having to find a way to hold off the Baltimore Rangers, win a game in Yankees stadium, and then fend off Verlander/Cabrera... or come back to Oakland who would be on quite the roll if the two met in the ALCS.

:(

If/when Chris Davis continues to go off and leads the Orioles to the win on Friday, I hope people don't rue the move to trade him. He was horrible here and never would've reached any potential he had

About Hamilton, he's done. Too much of a circus and not really a leader. We should let him walk and go get BJ Upton for CF and then continue to build around the youngsters Profar, Olt, and maybe Leonys (although I don't think his ceiling is quite that high anymore)

I'm a Mets fan (sigh) but gotta ask the question, Rangers lose tomorrow, is Ron Washington fired?

Do you guys want him fired?

I still like Wash.

If the Rangers let Hamilton walk, the offense is really going to suffer. That said, there is no way in hell I pay him $200M like some are saying.

The guy thinks he is a top 5 player in the league. He is right. He is, but only when he decides to play like it. He thinks he so good that he doesn't always have to put forth the effort.

I hate to see a player of that talent go, but no way I give him a long term contract for huge money.

Offer him 5 years $100M. If someone beats that, (and they will) let him go. Take the draft pick and draft another player.

Washington isn't perfect, but he is a damn good coach. That is more than can be said about a lot of MLB teams coaches.
