Can someone explain that play at first; looks like home plate ump overruled that play. 1st base ump half heartedly signaled fair ball but didn't call batter/runner out as first baseman snagged the ball then stepped on the bag.

The baserunner returned to first after the play. so I'm thinking some kind of interference, dead ball, no runner can advance nor score?

Didn't hear clearly if announcers got it figured out or got the official ruling.

The Rangers finally got smart and hired a very good manager. Jerry still thinks he can get by with puppets and doing things his way.

It’s very nice to see a local team over-achieve instead of the opposite. I know nothing about the Phillies or D’backs, but I have the utmost confidence in this Rangers team.

I never heard an explanation either. The broadcasters said several times after that the call was wrong, but that doesn’t mean anything. It clearly didn’t hit in the batters box which would make it no play. I always though the ball was foul once it hit foul but can’t remember ever seeing a ball spin back fair.

Most people form they’re opinions based on what they see on TV. The 1st time I went to NYC back in the 70’s, the cabbie that took me wanted to know where my hat and boots were because he thought we were all McClouds.

Later, in the 90’s, we took a cruise of the Aegean with a stop in Turkey. The cabbie there wanted to know how many oil wells I had because Dallas was a BIG show on tv there then.

Texas has more black people than any other state, way more than California and way more than New York. Texas is one of the most diverse states in the US. There are more black folks in DFW than Los Angeles (metro area) also more in Houston than LA.
