I'm gonna say Texas blows out Bama 38-17.

Texas doesn't match up well with Bama but Colt McCoy has the magic so anything is possible.

The offensive and defensive lines for Texas will be key in this game.

What does Texas do on its first two offensive series? If they have early 3 and outs or even just gain one first down in a seris and then punt, then I think it will be a close game that Alabama wins. The Texas offense always seems slow to adjust especially against the better defenses. If things aren't going well early it may be a sign of them struggling the entire game.

If Texas shows they can move the ball with some success early then I think they will win by a comfortable margin. To me a comfortable margin in this game is somewhere between 9 and 14 points.

I think the Texas defense will do well against Alabama's offense. They won't shut them out and will give up some points, but not a whole lot of points. That is why if Texas gets some early success on offense that they can eventually put up some points that makes the difference in this game.

Both teams may also put up a score or at least put themselves in good position through special teams. I think both teams can get a blocked punt or FG, while Texas has the advantage in the return game.

The real unpredictable part to me is the Texas O against the Bama D. And that battle comes down to the line play. Texas has the skill players, but their line has been weak and rather passive all year. How do you scheme around that? That is a tough task.

Well I've heard many that believe Bama is going to stomp Texas. I don't know that I believe that. To me, it's all based on the premis that Texas had a hard time with Nebraska. Now, that is true, Nebraska gave us all we wanted but it's not as if Texas played there best football in that game either. I doubt McCoy will throw three INTs again. I also doubt that Texas will have as much trouble protecting McCoy as they did against Nebraska. I mean, really, that's what it comes down to right? The perception that Bama has the best defense in the country and Nebraska's defense was able to hold Texas to 13 points. Well, is it the best in the Country? How good is Nebraska? Nebraska stomped a mudd hole in Arizona's backside. Arizona, who beat USC at USC, who lost to Iowa 27-17 at Iowa early in the year, who lost to Oregon 44-41 in OT, the 2nd best team in the PAC10, they dismantled them. Is Bama really the best defense in the Country? I am not so sure. Nebraska is a team defensively, who gave up the following this year on defense:

The only team that really laid down the points on Nebraska this year was Tech. and I'm telling you right now, Bama should thank there lucky stars that they don't have to play Tech. every year. Bama is the 2nd ranked defensive team in the country. Nebraska was the 7th ranked defense in the country. On average, Bama gave up 4.1 yards per play. Nebraska gave up 4.0. Why is Bama ranked higher if they give up more per play? Because the Bama defense only had to stay on the field for 772 snaps. Nebraska's defense had to play 955 or 183 more defensive snaps. Nebraska's offense struggled so much during the year that there defense had to be on the field much more then they should have been. You look at defensive stats and you'll see that the only 4 teams of the 107 D1 schools played more defensive snaps then did Nebraska. Of those 4, the highest rated defense, besides Nebraska (7) was Clemson. Clemson played 967 snaps and ranked 20th. Ohio at 45 is the next team with more defensive snaps played.

I do not believe that Bama has the best defense in the Country. I think they are very good but I don't believe they are better then Nebraska or Texas. Remember that last year, at this same time, everybody knew that Alabama was going to roll over Utah. Well, Utah put up 31 on Bama using the spread offense. I like Texas' chances in this game.

I agree. I think people are looking at the Neb game and thinking that is Texas at their best. Fact is Neb played and has been playing great defense all season long and Shue had a monster game. I tip my hat to them but Texas can light you up and I think the Texas defense can and will present problems for Bama.

If the Bama QB can play decent then I think they win. I don't think it will be a blow out by any means. Heck it could be a low scoring game all together but I think Bama is the better and more disciplined team.

I think Bama is the better team. I still don't know how the hell Texas can practice against a running game like Bama's and Texas Oline scares me to death. I think/hope Bama shot their wad against Florida and thinks they can just show up and win. I have no clue who wins but I think I might root for the Horns.
