Let's get, Let's get, Let's get HOOKED
Let's go all the way, National Champs Thursday
Come on, Let's get, Let's get, Let's get HOOKED

I will be shocked if it comes to that. Let's not act like Texas isn't a good team. Let's not act like Alabama didn't have their struggles at times throughout the season themselves. My heart is for Texas but I don't know if my head believes it. If Texas gets Malcolm and Jordan involved early, Bama will have a fight on their hands.

I love the Longhorns, but I won't lie. My confidence isn't exactly overflowing. Alabama played its best game of the season against Florida. The Crimson Tide dominated the Gators in all facets and, in doing so, found the one element that had eluded them all season up to that point -- a consistent passing game.

Meanwhile, the Longhorns played arguably their worst game of the season against Nebraska, especially on offense. They continue to be plagued by a spotty and sometimes nonexistent run game. Unfortunately, their problems are schematic -- they simply lack sufficient variety in play selection to mount a consistent rushing attack -- and will not be remedied this year.

Texas is certainly capable of winning, but they must be very cautious in the early going. Alabama is exuding confidence right now, and the game could quickly snowball for Texas if they aren't careful.

But I like the players on this Longhorn team, and they generally respond well to adversity, better than any team during the Mack Brown regime.

Texas O line is weak; Bama D line is strong. Second Alamo.

Texas will shut down the Bama running game and when they do the ints will come Texas secondary vs the Bama passing game is a Texas win. Longhorns do not just pick off passes they take them to the house.

Oh, yeah. I'm taking your prediction to the bank. Goodness knows, you were spot on about Romo.

Yeah, romo finally didn't suck in December. Failed 3 out of 4 times. Yep, totally wrong!

Anyways, no one but a total UT homer thinks that Texas should be favored to win in this game. Alabama is stronger in every area with the exception of the QB position. It won't be a blowout, but Bama will win by 10.

Romo is the only quarterback to start his career with three consecutive seasons with quarterback ratings of 97+. So, yes. You were wrong. Egregiously, in fact.

You're charging at windmills. I never said this.

Bama should be favored in this game I have no issue with that, I do think Texas can and will win this game. I respect Bama but I think Texas can put up points on them.

If Texas can stop the running game then they have a chance because I believe Texas or Florida has the best secondary in the Nation.

But I just think the Texas front 7 will get bullied against the more Physical crimson tide.

I don't like this match up at all for Texas. I hope they win but its the classic battle of Physical football vs Finesse football.

If Alabama decides to impose their will in the run game im affraid there isn't much Texas can do about it but if anyone can find a way to stop it than it would be muschamp.

I consider the Texas D to be just as physical as the Bama D. They look almost identical....even scheme. Texas has built an SEC defense with a former SEC coach.

Defensively, Texas may be the better team according to statistical data. They are ranked 2 and 3 in the country for Total defense but I believe this has more to do with total defensive snaps. 772 for Bama and 855 for Texas. Bama is giving up 4.1 yards per play while Texas is giving up 3.8. Bama appears to be better in pass defense while Texas is stronger against the run. Interestingly enough however, if you look at defensive numbers against winning teams, Texas is actually better. Nebraska is #1 and Texas is #2, followed by Florida, TCU and then Bama.

I also think that Texas has better special teams. I would not say that Bama is better in all phases. However, I'm open to discussing the point.

* just a reminder that the running SEC and the passing Big12 scew those stats.

* also agree that Bama is nowhere near better in all phases. They are better at run blocking and they have a better running back....Texas has the better QB and special teams....the rest is basically a wash.
