Next Year... I hope he gets drafted by Cleveland!
Boy, not a good way to start your career with the team that drafted you.
Per the Chargers' release, the offer included.
» "An initial signing bonus payment that is larger than any player in the League has received in the last two drafts."
» "More money in this calendar year than every player in this year's draft except one (QB Carson Wentz)."
» "The largest payment and the highest percentage of signing bonus received in the first calendar year of any Chargers' first-round selection since the inception of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (2011)."

Wonder if someone from Bosas camp will give a statement.
The agency that represents him asks for the same thing for all of their clients.
They have gotten it from all of them except for the Chargers.
I'm sure they are worried if they give in now than that's it.
Dealings like this normally are specifically the players asking for this or that. it is the agency representing him
Now, I guess he could fire his agency...not sure what the penalty would be though.
The offset money was the issue. Chargers have a history of this.
Yep. If the earlier reports were true that Bosa's camp either wanted the offset language OR the deferred bonus language out, it would appear they look like tools here now. Because the Chargers seemed to have backed off the deferred bonus money, since they claim they would pay him the most signing bonus money of any player in the last two drafts.
The Chargers history can't be erased with this clear attempt to win a PR battle. Sorry Chargers, no one forgets the fact that your franchise QB had to hold out as a rookie as well. That Eli Manning refused to deal with Spanos and crew.
Embarrassing that a team felt they had to openly discuss contract terms via a press release when most teams admonish players for doing so via the media.
Bosa would have been signed by nearly every team in the League except the Chargers, Cardinals and Bengals. Known cheap owners.
That's what I just said. If wants to bust their normal deal, he can always fire them or at least threaten to. My guess is he'd need to fire them because they have the rep of getting this (or something like it) for their clients. That's somewhat bogus though. They work for Bosa. If Bosa wants to be in camp, he'll be in camp because he can tell his agents to accept the deal. Bosa is on board with that this agency is doing, regardless of whose idea it is.
The reality is other players in this league have accepted the same conditions. Both Wentz and Elliott, for example, have the same language and conditions that Bosa is apparently railing about.
That's true and I tend to agree with you but it should be noted that the Chargers are the only team in the league not to offer either the offset language or the deferral.
