If he had doubts about himself he would have signed weeks ago.......the whole family thinks they are special......they were bragging about their great grandfather was Al Capone's right hand man....his father and uncle both played for the Miami Dolphins in the 80s(both were 1st round busts) so he isn't desperate for money....his younger brother is another big time recruit at OSU.....they picked Tom Condon as an agent because he fights tough with SD...even the mom can stop chirping on Twitter......I really have come to dislike them

Wonder what he's hiding that he wouldn't just sign the contract. His bonus alone would be more money than anyone in his family has ever made in their lives...

...secret injury? Secretly knows he's actually trash?

If he knew he was trash he would of signed right after he put on that Chargers jersey back in April lol.

While I'm no fan of the Chargers, this is ridiculous on both sides.
I get he wants to max his potential $$$, but it's a tad silly to be worrying about future money this late in the season IF you were cut down the years down the road.

But that's what the offset language is about: not being on the hook for the guarantee of his contract should he be cut. So, in essence, yes they can cut him and not be responsible for his contract guarantees. It's the sticking point, actually. So if Bosa signs the currently offered contract with the deferred payment AND offsets the Chargers owe him nothing of the actual contract should they decide to send him packing once he ends the couch and cheeseburgers tour.
Almost right. The offset language protects the team from paying him if he gets signed by another team, so he doesn't double dip with salaries. I actually think this is fair as no player should be able significantly count against two teams salary caps, which affects other players.

Although both parties have more than their share of blame over the situation, the Chargers have more to lose. For anyone who says that Bosa is giving up a year of earning ability, there’s no logical reason why sitting out this season would cut a year off his career expectancy. If Bosa re-enters the draft — granted, I still think it’s a long shot he’ll sit all season — he’ll still be a high pick. Maybe his 2017 rookie deal will be worth less because he won’t go third overall again (hence, why he’s screwing this up too), but he’d still be a high pick and get paid well. The Chargers, if they don’t sign Bosa, lose the third pick of the draft and get nothing in return. All over setting a precedent over the timing of probably about $1.7 million in bonus money.

“I cannot stress this enough. Every team I speak to thinks the Chargers are ruining Bosa. They are laughing at the Chargers,” Freeman wrote.

Freeman cites three unnamed general managers, and you have to assume there are others around the league who would not side with the player holding out over what seems like a relatively minor contractual detail. But it’s clear at least some teams don’t understand why the Chargers are taking this stance.

Yes, never been a big fan of Unions

I think that Unions can be helpful in some fields, but for the most part are bloated, corrupt, and overpowered. When it comes to putting your life and health on the line for a sport? Yes, a Union is a good thing for the players.

Fuzzy and I have a little history and he is always siding with the players, so I kid him about being Norma Rae.....I see the need and everything comes to down to how well they negotiate the CBA but I will normally side with the owners since they are the ones putting their capital at risk and most times the players are just being divas......
