I disagree....get your butt to camp rookie......his Dad was a 1st holdout back in the 80s and turned out to be a huge bust.....SD is offering the years, the money and it is 100% guaranteed.......if they want offsets and a deferment, so what...

The "so what" is that every other top pick is getting it

They have some really non-standard conditions on it.

They really don't. Wentz and Elliott signed contracts with the same conditions Bosa is rejecting. Further, according to the Chargers press release, the one "Non-standard" condition of deferring the signing bonus appears to have been mitigated as the Chargers offered to pay him more signing bonus up front than any player has gotten in the last two drafts and that he would be 2nd, only to Wentz, in terms of cash in his pocket his rookie year.

So if that's true, it would seem Bosa and his agent think they can have everything they want.

Months later and people are still obsessed with Bosa hate. I don't get it.

they are minor issues.....he would still get 10m at signing and another 8m in March.....the offset language should never be an issue.....so why fight the war?.....every day missed as a rookie is priceless

Bosa and his camp are (rightfully) upset at Spanos and the rest of the Chargers front office, and for reasons that @Sydla and a couple others have said, and now it seems SD is trying to mend that bridge, but now it appears to be a tad too little, a little too late.

Charger fans have been mostly defending Bosa thus far, wonder if this causes more to jump ship, by his rejection of an offer Charger fans may feel is a decent compromise?

Go get 'em, Jerruh, poach that dude away from SoCal! Even if it's next offseason! (Not gonna happen, probly). :(

Maybe Bosa has been smoking some weed or ingesting something he not allowed. If he signs a contract he would be subject to testing. Just a guess on my part. Nothing to go by. Maybe he is already subject to testing? Nothing else would make sense to why he isn't signing unless he is waiting for stuff to get out of his system.

There is probably a long play here by France and CAA, his agents. Guys picked where Bosa was picked typically have at least on of the provisions in his contract per what I have read. Obviously France and CAA would love to start a precedent where a guy in Bosa's shoes could sign a contract without either provision. They just needed a client to go along on their crusade, preferably a meathead who can't see the bigger picture.

Bosa and his family probably fit that bill.

I respectfully disagree, I think Bosa deserves provisons commensurate w the provisions of his immediate draft peers, both directly before and after his pick.

He and his family may very well fit that bill, NFLPA is praying not :)

This guy is something else. The chargers ocfered him a contract that would given him the 2nd most cash yr one amongst rookies. And he rejected. This guy is a idiot.

You better be ready for this...http://i1133.***BLOCKED***/albums/m600/DWAREZIZ/image_10.jpeg

Not sure what you are disagreeing with. I don't think Bosa has much of a leg to stand on at this point as he appears to have been given a concession on one of his demands (the signing bonus part) and that both Wentz and Elliott signed deals with both provisions in their contracts.

Thank god we didn't draft Bosa

You mean you didnt want a weekly we drafted this guy at 4 and he only has 6 sacks thread? We already have that with Claiborne so I coudlnt agree more.

If we drafted him he would've been signed.

Nobody wants to deal with the Chargers.

He'll eventually cave though because if he takes off a year he'll fall to mid 1st round and lose a lot more money.

My bad, man, I did reply to your message outta context, and noticed it afterwards.

He doesn't have a leg to stand on, but the bridge may be scorched. His camp has already expressed regret over not forcing another Eli dealio.

This problem isn't going away anytime soon for the Chargers, should they get another top 10 pick next year.....lookout.

I'll give a 1st right now for Bosa.

And that was a week and a half ago, Chargers' exec plane was only scene in Bosa's HT yesterday. So maybe those negative sentiments have stewed, w no doubt countless people in his ears.

their conditions are the standard language.......waiving it for top 3 picks has become the new thing.....SD doesn't want to give a rookie something they wouldn't give Rivers or Gates

That's incorrect. It is not standard to defer bonuses. Nor is offset language standard. That's something a small handful of teams try to shove down player's throats.
