Werder is trying to create headlines again. There is no way Jerry would've kept Garrett from going after Turner, I don't care how people feel about Jones.
The 103.3 guys (Fitzsimmons primarily) have been talking about this all morning. In fact, they're the ones who asked Werder about it -- Werder didn't introduce it.
They said they talked to very good people in the know, people who have been very reliable sources in the past, and it was what Joe said, that Jerry didn't want Norv.
However, as Friedman pointed out, we don't know that Norv even really wanted to come here -- they just said he was open to the idea. Last year Galloway, who is Norv's drinking buddy, said Norv didn't want to come here because he didn't want the circus.
As Friedman also pointed out, it's more likely what theebs said, a money issue. Jerry doesn't want to give Norv a multi-year contract like he could (and later did) get when Jerry may be cleaning house less than a year from now.
If that's true, then there's some great news from this: That Garrett really is on his last leg. Produce or hit the bricks.
