Thanks, Romo! ***MERGED ***

Gonna miss you in a star uniform, but glad you'll get a chance at a blank chapter in your career.

I'll never forget the greatest QB to wear the star.

He and Roger are my favorite Cowboys QB's. Troy obviously rounds out my top 3.

Best of luck #9...thanks for the sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears!

It's a shame that his talent was wasted all those years & he couldn't end his time with us with a Championship ring. I'll miss him in a Cowboys uniform but wish him well wherever he goes next. Thank You, Tony.
I'm also thankful of this thread, because it shined a light on a couple idiots who are now on the ignore list.

Thank you, Tony. You were a good player and made great money under a great owner and TERRIBLE GM. Hope you lose every game against us for the rest of your career, but otherwise, best wishes!

Very sad day for Cowboys fans all in all. I wish Tony nothing but success wherever he lands next.

His last play for the Cowboys was a 3 yard TD throw to TWill in the Philly game, last game of the season:

Terrance Williams 3 Yd pass from Tony Romo (Dan Bailey Kick)

Dak had this to say:

"I want the football every possession, but it was fun to watch Tony make it look so easy," Prescott said.

Not that any of us are surprised but it's a sad day, end of an era. Thanks for everything Tony! I wish him all the best at his next stop.

Do we beat the Packers this past year if Romo was starting? Serious question...

Romo will be just another ex-Dallas Cowboy player soon. Zero surprise since he pretty much told the world he was gone last November. Either he will fulfill his career dreams elsewhere or he won't. Good luck to him as long as any of his success doesn't negatively impact Dallas in any and every future head-to-head matchup.

Romo's a good guy but I won't hate on him if he does win elsewhere and give his critics the finger. Heck, he's gotten the finger from them often enough. Karma.

My favorite Romo moments:

1. Week 2 @ San Francisco (broken ribs game)

2. Week 16 @ Washington (herniated disk game)

3. Week 1 vs NYG in 2015

4. Win @Seattle

5. @ Philly in 2014 (ended their season)

Ima miss that guy :starspin:

Where ever he plays, I'll be watching and rooting for him every game, except the Cowboys. If he beats us, I probably won't even be mad.
Same here..I'm hoping its Houston since I get all their games and I'll get to hear all the texan fans have to root for Romo after 10 years of hating him.
Already sports talk radio is warming up to the possibility.

That's an impossible question to answer. NFL 80+ year history suggests that would have been a possibility since no rookie quarterback has ever led an offense on a league championship team. Now it's just another what if like what if the Ice Bowl had been a game played above freezing? Or what if Jackie Smith hadn't dropped Staubach's pass? Or what if Pearson hadn't gotten tackled by a fingertip? Or what if Blandino had shut the flip up? Who knows?
