Dear Tony Romo,
Thank you and sorry. Thank you for the amazing ride you gave me as a Cowboy fan over the last decade as one of your biggest supporters. It feels like yesterday when Parcells pulled the plug on Drew at halftime and inserted you in. You've been my favorite player for as long as I can remember. I can't count on a 100 hands how many times I've stuck up for you in heated debates, so there's a bit of an emotional attachment here. You have been a great QB for a long time, my QB as TO once famously said. Your accomplishments and stats are certainly ring of honor worthy, and if you get a super bowl one day I don't see how they'll keep you out of the hall of fame. If it can't be the Cowboys this season, I'll be rooting for whoever you play for to win it all. You more than deserve it. Thank you so much for the memories. I respect the hell out of your toughness, intelligence, sense of humor, and pure skill. You went from undrafted rookie to the American dream we all wish we could live and be.
I'm sorry. What happened last year was an anomaly, and while I'm very excited for Dak, I quietly wanted you back in as soon as you became healthy regardless of what Dak was doing. Dak is the man right now, as you stated in your presser, but no one expected him to be that, atleast so quickly. I'm sorry for the Dez caught it play because that really robbed you of your and the teams best season during your tenure as our QB. I'm sorry that it took the ownership/coaches so long to build this offensive line, and to draft well. Outside of the first round, our drafts were crap in your time here. I'm sorry for all the unnecessary hate you've gotten over the years that was undeserved. And most importantly, I'm sorry that all of your relentless work and the heart you showed over the years didn't result in the final prize, the super bowl.
I love Tony Romo and seeing him not a part of the team breaks my heart. Football is a team game, but let's be honest....with the pun fully intended, Tony Romo put the Dallas Cowboys on his back for the last decade. I wish you well Tony.
Your biggest PA fan,
Ryan Davidson
