Cooper Kupp's receptions by game this year:

13
11
4
14
7

The 7 is us. We gave up the 2nd fewest receptions of the season to Kupp.

Maybe. I do know that Diggs like to give a lot of space in coverage to try to lure QBs into throws. He was a mile off CC on that 75 yarder and almost closed it. But, almost doesn't count in football.
It was cover 3 and Malik Hooker got sucked up in the run action. Ryan Clark explained it after the game, that wasn’t on Diggs and he still almost made the play.

We gotta understand CB’s and S’s work together, one mistake by the S and it looks like the CB got burned when it’s not the case.

I'm late here but Diggs was never in position to make a play on the ball. It was a crossing pattern and the ball was almost a little too ahead for Cooper Kupp too, who made a nice catch. The play will go down as a TD given up by Diggs but I'm wondering where the safeties were.

No matter, it was the Rams' only touchdown and I'll take it.

One play. But that's exactly how not to play Kupp. Cannot let him run free after the catch like that. Let him make the catch then tackle him.

I was actually surprised Kupp outran the Cowboys defenders the way he did. I thought he was a 4.5 guy.

Kudos to the Rams other receivers running interference for him. I'm not sure if he still would have scored but without those other guys getting in the way it might have been a bit more interesting.

RonnieT24.....not carried away. But to me, I saw Kupp pull away from Diggs further, when both went into "second gear". Maybe its a question of Diggs speed then. Nobody popped out as World Class and headed to the next Olympic trials, however. But to Kupp's credit......he is good with YAC on many of his catches. And for some.....not tearing Diggs down.....it was mano vs mano on that play, and Kupp happen to win that battle. That's all I'm saying. All good.

It took Diggs longer to turn back upfield after Kupp made the catch and Kupp opened up distance on him immediately after. Then about the time Diggs was trying to hit HIS top gear someone flashed in front of him and broke his stride. Great play by Kupp.. good job by his mates helping him get to paydirt. It's something I wish our receivers did more of frankly. Seems like our receivers for the most part become spectators once a guy breaks into the open.

No disputing, RonnieT24......but I must ask......what does Diggs or a quality CB do to combat that route, in the future? It's on film now.

It has always been said that there is no defense for perfect execution. In this case the ball was placed far enough out in front of Kupp (almost too far) such that Diggs had no shot at it. That's what they mean when they say the ball is thrown where your guy gets it or no one does. Kupp made an amazing play to reel that thing in. Diggs could not have covered it any better. The only thing he maybe could do differently is get a better jam so as not to allow Kupp to get into that position in the first place. I have not re-watched to see if they were still in the 5 yard zone but I wanna say they were so Diggs could have shoved Kupp on his break and completely disrupted the whole thing. Then again, he plays for the Cowboys so it probably would have drawn a flag anyway.

I couldn't even be mad about it. It was placed nearly perfectly and Kupp had a step on Diggs. Nobody locks Kupp down for an entire game, especially if they are left man to man with him.

Ok......fair take. I thought similar.....perhaps some contact within the 5 yd range to disrupt timing......suspect we will see that route in the future coming his way again, during the season......maybe next game. Hopefully, we'll see an adjustment.

Both plays Wilson was supposed to be playing single high safety and got caught looking underneath. On the td pass Wilson ends up behind Diggs despite being the deep safety on the play and Kupp caught a drag. Still glad the defense only gave up 10 points though.

Edit: Some people saying it was Malik Hooker. I'm not sure which player it was.

Kupp couldn't make that catch 5 out 10 times, he literally tipped it to himself with the tips of his fingers. That throw another inch towards the sideline it is incomplete.
Cupp makes that play 11 out of 10 times, unless you have never seen him play

Not every throw is going to be perfect... if it's thrown perfectly every time it's going to be completed more often than not. Especially to a quality receiver like Kupp.. The real screwup was by the safeties not being there to make the tackle after the catch. But yeah.. teams are going to try him on those.. But my guess is he will win his share and take a couple to the house..

So he now bends the laws of physics and math so which is more believable 5 out of 10 or 11 out of 10. It was a tip drill catch, we have seen CeeDee make similar catches and drop similar. Great play thats all.

Sometimes good players make good plays. Can't hate on that. It was an exceptional catch and run. I was actually suprised how fast Kupp was, he smoked everyone.

The safety help over the top was supposed to prevent the big play.

Tell Jerry to get some quality DT's who can collapse the pocket.
