I understand the frustration around here, this team and this QB don`t seem to have “IT” and certainly don`t look like a playoff team but then again this is week 5 and we are 2-2, last year after 9 games we were 5-4 and we had every opportunity to make the playoffs and choked it away, all I`m saying is there still a lot of football to be played, although it doesn`t look good just remember it`s not how you start it`s how you finish.

I'm taking Shakespeare-Honors as a class in senior English... and I just learned today that a "Tragic comedy" is a sad story (with enough satire and jokes to make it mildly amusing), but it always has a delightfully happy ending!

You're sub-conciously a believer!

I know some of you are actually surprised at what is unfolding in front of our very eyes. I'm not surprised at all. Despite being called everything in the book of negative references, I stand here today strong and firm. I always find it funny how the unpopular opinion often becomes reality. Our 2009 team is a comedy of erroneous proportions. While some would like to believe we're attempting to get better as the years go by, thanks to the current decisions makers, we're regressing with every passing minute. Let me provide just a few examples.
  • Locking up an unproven quarterback up with a pace setting contract for multiple years...
  • Trading away the future for a mediocre chain moving WR...
  • Believing that Sensabaugh would solve all of our problems in the middle instead of looking to the draft...
  • Believing that Spencer could fill the void left by Ellis...
  • Thinking that donning the helmet with the beloved star on it automatically makes you talented...
  • Keeping a classic loser for yet another year because he promises to change...
  • Trying to be the owner and GM... I can't name many owners with their own radio show... Attention *****...
  • Re-signing Flozell Adams...
  • Believing we could actually find success without anyone at the WR position to make defenses play honest...
  • Believing that all of the team's problems were no longer on the team...
  • Publicly stating that the intention was to make the team more "Romo Friendly"... So lame...
  • Continuing to live in denial of reality...
  • Thinking T-New hadn't really lost a step... He has...
  • Expecting a dysfunctional coaching staff to function...
This team will continue to win some and lose some. They'll break hearts consistently along the way with their helter skelter play. This is a team that lacks preparation, focus, accountability, and most importantly... smarts. They're just not very good. Do we still have an overwhelming majority that disagree with me or are more of you now seeing the light amidst the roses? When will the tide really change? I enjoy a good laugh but this is truly ridiculous.

Sadly I agree with alot of things you just said.

Is seeing the light the same as being a ***** and giving up on the season now? If so, then why are you here?

What do you want with a "change of tide?" Do you want the majority of the board to be ******* too and give up on the season? If so, why would you want to be here?

Sure...... If enough of the board turns into *******s then that might possibly carry over into the real public, then the media, then VR ultimately ending in real change. Was my ridiculous answer good enough for your ridiculous question?

So you think that your post here is going to lead to what? Jerry selling the team, hiring the GM, firing the entire coaching staff, blowing up the team, what?

Just want to know what kind of avalanche you expect to start with your insightful post.

All posts are meant to start avalanches....

Some are simply meant to point out the accumulation of snow on the peaks above the resort....

We're 2-2 and have lost to teams that are undefeated.

Not sure why some are already waving the White Flag.

Also, Tony Romo deserved the money he got. He was playing at a very high level and if the Cowboys didn't sign him, the media and the fans would have crucified Jerry Jones.

You would think we are 0-4.
Haven't beaten a team with a win either

If the snow is accumulating there, maybe you shouldn't yell.

I've been lambasted many times for my unpopular opinion. So I have never had a problem lambasting back.

The only people on this forum who have not been blasted are those who have never offered up an opinion.

To watch and accept without taking notice is to become a permanent fixture in the rosy garden. No thanks.

I agree with some, but not all, of your points.

  • Locking up an unproven quarterback up with a pace setting contract for multiple years...

This was certainly the right move to make at the time. He played at an extremely high level from the start and accomplished quite a bit those first couple of years (division title, Pro Bowls, passing records, amazing stats and a great record). This recent regression could not be forseen. Eli looked like a massive bust - until he didn't. Hindsight is 20/20.

  • Trading away the future for a mediocre chain moving WR...

I really thought Roy was more of a playmaker than this. He looks like Keyshawn Johnson to me and we clearly gave away too much.

  • Believing that Sensabaugh would solve all of our problems in the middle instead of looking to the draft...

Sensabaugh was a good signing. Significant upgrade over that crap we've been watchin for the past few years. This guy is entering his prime and we paid little. This was not a bad move and I haven't seen TE's lighting us up this year.

  • Believing that Spencer could fill the void left by Ellis...

Yeah this is annoying. Spencer is better against the run and better in coverage. He's nowhere near the pass rusher unfortunately. Ellis would have been a perfect Jeffcoat-type situational rusher, but he had to be so whiney. He also had a big cap #. I think if this guy was more of a leader/team player, they would have kept him. Ellis put the Cowboys in a bad spot and I don't completely blame them here. We needed fewer locker room lawyers.

  • Thinking that donning the helmet with the beloved star on it automatically makes you talented...

Many of us certainly don't believe that.

  • Keeping a classic loser for yet another year because he promises to change...

Yeah, this sucked. The same problems with penalties and dumb calls have been a staple of this team for a while. I blame these coaches, but it's funny how we had similar probs under Parcells. Some of it is the stupidity/sloppiness of the players.

  • Trying to be the owner and GM... I can't name many owners with their own radio show... Attention *****...

    His attention seeking is ridiculous.
  • Re-signing Flozell Adams...

This guy helps us more than hurts us, but we needed to draft a legit replacement a couple of years back.
  • Believing we could actually find success without anyone at the WR position to make defenses play honest...

Teams have certainly done it before (both of the first two Giants SB teams, Ravens, Patriots etc.). The thing is that you need a great D to pull it off.

  • Believing that all of the team's problems were no longer on the team...

Some have been removed, but some talent went with them.

  • Publicly stating that the intention was to make the team more "Romo Friendly"... So lame...

    That was sickening and moronic.

  • Continuing to live in denial of reality...

I've seen pretty mediocre teams win quite a few of the recent Super Bowls, so I don't think feeling this team has/had a chance is "denying reality" per se.

  • Thinking T-New hadn't really lost a step... He has...

It looks like it now but, when healthy, it rarely looked like that until this season.

  • Expecting a dysfunctional coaching staff to function...

THAT is a huge problem. Couldn't agree more with that.

What does that mean? That your fanhood isn't permanent? That's what I'm saying. If you're that scared, might as well go now. Maybe you can find a new team that doesn't have any problems.

You said you wanted to change the tide, and hopefully inspire change at VR. I got news for ya, that ain't happenin. So what else do you want? You don't want to be a permanent fixture... you contemplating a change of scenery?

Ahhhhhh.. The classic "if you don't like it or aren't as firmly entrenched as me go find a team that makes you coo" response... Gotta love it. Reality bites. I'm not here to prove my fandom to you. That's about as much as I will entertain your ridiculous assertion. Carry on sir rosy eyes.

Except one of those undefeated teams, Denver, just isn't that good.

They barely limped to a win despite having a huge home-field advantage against Dallas.

I am in no way saying Denver didn't earn their win, but they had a ton of help from Romo and several other Cowboys.

The contending teams in the NFL will finish off Denver like a cheap candy bar. And then everyone (who has forgotten) will remember what an idiotic move it was to trade Cutler for Orton.

Dallas didn't show much killer instinct in their 2 wins. There were points in those games where momentum could of easily swung and Dallas could of lost.

Dallas made a bunch of mistakes and almost beat NY.

Unfortunately, thats the hallmark of a bad team. They find ways to lose and don't look convincing when they do squeak out wins.

So you like the way things have gone the last 13 years? Or do you just think if you defend all things the team does you'll get a reward in Cowboy heaven?
