The 2009 Dallas Cowboys: A Tragic Comedy

Gotta link to a post that says someone is content to be 2-2 or that someone is satisfied that the games come down to the last minute?

Edit...nevermind. I didn't see who the author was. Better not say anything.

[/LIST]Sorry dude. Stopped reading right there. Trading away the future? Not really.

we completely wasted the majority of the draft picks this past draft. We needed a WR like a Mike Wallace. Apparently someone thought we had playmakers, we have one, china-doll Felix Jones. We needed more rather than 12 ST/role players, half of which we knew we'd cut anyway.
As much as i couldn't stand him, we blew it by cutting TO. He may have dropped too many passes but the defenses were scared to death of him.
IMO, the true bottom line though is that NFL success seems to start at the organizational level, GM/ownership, then the coaching staff, then finally the players. I know, not rocket science but there are at least three franchises that haven't figured this out, Raiders, Skins, Cowboys. They are all toxic due to their meddling owners. Meanwhile, the Steelers, Colts, and Pats have thoroughly unimpressive rosters top to bottom yet win consistently. They are well coached and the players play like they give a rip. The Pats have some real scrubs on their team but they'll sure as heck end up in the playoffs while we'll be taking our 13 pro bowlers from two years ago home as always. Doesn't it strike you as curious that Sean Payton gets nearly ran out of Dallas, goes to NO, picks up half of our castoffs and has a lot of scrubs to begin with, and promptly kicks the living crap out of us enroute to the nfc championship game. I'm sure they will beat the crap out of us again this year. Lord only knows what he might be doing if he had his pick of any of our players. Additionally, we had Bill Parcells, who has never had a problem motivating players, ran out of town. The last good coach we had was Jimmy Johnson, who oddly enough was also ran out of town by our fearless owner/GM. Therefore, it seems to me that the owner/GM is the root of our cancer. Hopefully oneday soon he'll realize that its him and he'll rectify it by bringing in a real GM staff and letting them run things the right way and hire a coach that has a clue. Until then, the streak will continue. This will mark 13 years w/o a playoff win.

Not content, just not ready throw up the White Flag and say the season is over.

But the folks that are going act like the Season is over will read too much into every post that doesn't fit their particular agenda.

You would think we are 0-4 and headed straight for the Number 1 pick in the draft.

And like I have said time and time again, the only people that are claiming that the season is already over are the people who either were PO'ed that Terrell Owens got released or those foolish enough to buy into NFC Championship/Super Bowl or bust Preseason hype :laugh1: .

Wade Phillips is a very poor Head Coach. However, I believe this team will be in the mix to at least contend for a Playoff spot until very late in the Season.

Please.... did he say he was content? Some of you need to learn to read...

That's you too slate, if you think that's ownage.... And here I thought you were the expert in being pwned.

Just cause some of us aren't ready to run at the first sign of trouble, and are man enough to stick it out, doesn't mean we're content.

Disagree on your point on Flozell. I think after he retires people are going to realize how valuable a player he was.

I think its just the opposite. Once his eventual replacement outplays Flo in his first season everyone will wonder why we didn't move on from Flo 6 or more years earlier.

Of course he's gonna say he's not content after he got called out. O.J. said he didn't kill Nicole but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. But don't feel bad you got owned...you call someone out like you did and it's bound to happen. Maybe you should have learned to read.

How can you be owned by a guy who thought we could go 16-0 before the season and now is hopping on the hearse carousel with people who make threads to temper happiness after wins and "I told you so" threads after losses.

The guy is a freaking manic-depressive. Or a pubescent girl

There is nothing sweeter than seeing a smug lawyer, who falsely believes himself more intelligent than everyone else, get owned so hard on a message board. He really should crawl away with his head hung in shame.

I hope that sounded better in your head than it looks in type. Ridiculous analogy.

Do you know what "content" means? Seriously.

I can tell it's not false in your case.

I'm glad you enjoyed it sweetheart. To answer your question, of course I do, but it can have several meanings depending on how you use it.

What is that "peanut gallery?"

Just call me stepdad.

I, for one, am not going to flame you for being a realist. This is a well thought out post and not a quick-fire ridiculous flame thread.

Of course, having said that, I disagree. :)

Romo, in my opinion, has proved that he has the talent and smarts to run this offense and lead the team. He has clearly regressed. He lacks discipline and doesn't seem very coachable right now. I think it can be fixed, but maybe not.

Flozell Adams is still one of the best tackles in the game. Romo has played with a lot of time this season. Other than a few untimely penalties, I'm not quite sure how you can be down on The Hotel. Who would replace him?

Sensabaugh has played outstanding, what's your problem with him? Who else would have predicted Ellis would have as many sacks as the entire team by week 4? Certainly not me.

The one place I have to agree with keeping Wade. I think Jerry is trying to avoid being Snyder, and doesn't want to admit his mistake and start over with another coach. I would have fired Wade and replaced him with Garrett if he really wanted "continuity".

Then tell me, junior. How is saying "I'm not ready to give up," evidence of contentment? If anything it's proof that he's NOT content.

I'd wager it's the latter.
