Pollard isn’t close to Deebo. Lol What makes Deebo special is his strength. He has a thick base and is very difficult to bring down. Pollard doesn’t have near the power that Deebo has. On the 50+ yard TD catch Deebo had last night he was shaking off defenders. He can push a pile like Zeke used to. We don’t have a receiver like that. No team in the league does. Pollard needs space to use his speed. Against Washington he had 8 carries for 6 yards.
Your previous post mentioned “
our version” of Deebo.
Pollard is the closet thing to
our version that we have on the roster that could even try to mimic a Deebo, as he has burst, vision and open field run skills.
Only Pollard is not a WR,.. but a RB who “ could’ve “ been a very dangerous pass catching back outta backfield and around the line, but
thus is the way Kellen has under developed and under utilized.
Speaking of Deebo, I’ve seen Kellen trying to mimic CeeDee Lamb, as such but Lamb doesn’t have burst, open field run skills, much less size -power.to even be a
Cordell Patterson - a big WR with innate run skills, and used more as a RB than a WR.
Like u said , what other NFL team really has a Deebo handy ?
imo, what makes Deebo special first off, is his great pure run skills.
He has great vision to sense openings and lane, and the burst and elusiveness to pick and glide thru them, his size/strength comes in trying to stretch arm tackle him,
and he's so difficult to corral in the open field, especially once/when he gets that uneven field with momentum to manuever and cut back into lanes .
Is he a RB with WR skills … or a big WR with RB skills ?
And i still also give credit to Shanahan's scheme is knowing how to set his blockers up to get his momentum going.
