I was talking about Atlanta at a macro level not just the SB loss. I have a podcast worth of opinions as two what happened in that game. To put it simply Atlanta had to realize they were playing the clock and not the Patriots. If you go and analyze, they could have downed the ball every single play being up 28-3 and won the game. It was an impossible game to lose yet it happened. Just like Seattle not running at the goalline..I don't see it as luck. I see it as having the wrong guy in charge of the O. Don't forget, the same guy who was OC for ATL is now HC for SF. Kyle Shanahan simply does not understand how to run a ball control O. Yes, his O tends to build big leads, but then he has his Qb's throwing all over the field instead of having an eye on TOP and ball movement. To be clear, he likes to take deep drops and continue throwing long passes.
This plays right into the hands of the team who is behind. They obviously need to make some stops, what better way than to turn the dogs loose on a QB taking a deep drop waiting for routes to develop?
I would take Shanahan as my coach any day of the week. He knows how to win and utilize his players he will learn from his experience and have success.
If I was Dak, I would knock on SF's door this offseason and accept a 2 year 20 million per deal and go win a SB. Dak will find success and better coaching elsewhere. I am not anti Dak, but we are not the right team to be paying him 40 per year. We will not win. Full stop
