Call Rex Ryan….at least he can bring some attitude or SOMETHING. He has experience scheming and calling a D, adjustments….Parker has NONE of that….and it doesn’t look like he’s learning. Jim Schwartz…..damn man, SOMEBODY. This D and its players look lost, this scheme isn’t working with this roster.
 
The absolute funniest thing out of everything is that defensive coordinator number 5, whomever that may be, is gonna have the exact same problems as all the others.

With NO edges, heck, only one d linemen at the first level. (QW)
One linebacker at the 2nd level.(Barham)
One secondary guy(Downs) at the 3rd level although he didn't have his best game.

The cupboard is practically bare.
They suck at zone or press man or any other scheme called.
Because they suck.
So bring on the next attempt at a defensive coordinator and IF those personnel deficiencies aren't addressed, it will be the exact same outcome.

But let's continue on for the rest of this season and onward telling ourselves once again how we like our guys and once again get the exact same results.

Somebody who knows how to draft/acquire quality defensive players is an extreme need in the war room.
McClay and his scouting staff AINT IT.
These defensive players AINT IT.

This is the problem. The eternal optimist will take his annual “look in the mirror” and then the team will likely come out ready to play in 10 days, and if they actually win, Good Ol Jerrah will be right back claiming we are “hanging around the rim” lol

If they lose off the mini bye…. The wheels are off and we likely have a chance to see some mid season adjustments.

The fact we have to discuss this after losing to a winless, wounded team at home— is ironclad, irrefutable proof that this coaching staff does not move the needle in any way shape or form

They are flunking kindergarten. And the GM that put it all together will get a pass as usual.

so they guy we thought would be plucked for a HC job, sucks now has no imagination and has no clue, well I would give him a couple years. maybe he can get a degree at the university

Yep, its based on year after year of ignoring the Defense and then within 12 month period overhaul DC (twice) and start drafting for Defense......and expecting them to gell immediately. It's Jerry trying to force an ALL-IN based on no foundation, trying to get a middling Defense to support the GOTI.

90% of our stars have to be home grown. Jerry overpays them so they can believe in themselves. That's his psychological warfare team building approach .He has an unwavering I think I can, I think I can mindset. He is going to will it and believe it into happening.

30 years later.... we're all still waiting.
 
It’s still a process and we like our new guys. Things haven’t changed. Not even the Garrett philosophy.
 
Few options,

1) Fire CP and next man up coaching situation - (not gonna happen)
2) Hire Wink Martindale as a consultant to groom little CP the year
3) Ride out CP this year and clean house and hire Sean McDermott

The entire Coaching staff needs fired...Shotty picked his Assts and they were all inexperienced, Jerry went an got the players the Coaches wanted and traded away all those draft picks to get more players and the results is TRASH....its what happens when you have a OC (Shotty)moonlighting as a HC...Jerry gave him what he wanted and results are worse than last year.

They’re not doing him any favors with this roster. Not a single NFL linebacker or pass rusher on the team.

Indicative of why I have no faith in Parker even though hes young and has bad players starting. He's soft. Given a choice, he will choose the ultrasafe wussy play, no matter the opponent. You think Flores is dropping 7 players into coverage on 3rd and 21 vs a rookie udfa qb?
 
He may be NFL "book smart" but looks completely out of element calling plays/feel for the game.
