The whole team didn't show up. I'm not thinking this is a Dak issue.
Dak was terrible, and the NFL is all about the QB.
Finding a championship level QB is extremely difficult, unfortunately.
Just think....Jerry has had 26 years to find one....and he has failed. Makes you wonder if Jerry even knows what one looks like. One could make the argument....it might be worth trading 5 number 1 picks....if you can get yourself a Herbert or Burrows. 26 #1 picks....and not one spent on a QB....makes you question the philosophy.
Of course nobody trusts Jerry's talent evaluation but Dallas hasn't spent a first round pick on a QB since 1989. So, its not like we try real hard.
One of Jerry's critical flaws is that he believes his own sales pitches. He gets a QB and then sells them . . . and won't look to upgrade because of how great they are . . . and gives them a huge contract if needed. If it wasn't for Parcells cutting him, we might have had an 8 to 10 year run with Quincy Carter.
I think Floaty is right that the team might want to take a more traditional route for the next QB (draft a top prospect). No need to try to convince the world that you are a genius by picking up a QB late.
I know it's a long shot and my guess it you couldn't find a team to do it, but I think we would eat 23 million this year if we could trade Dak. Is that worth it if you could get him to waive the no trade clause and find a team willing to take him? I don't know, for 23 million it would be for me, but I may be wrong on that number. What the Cowboys can do is draft a QB in the first few rounds and get him ready to go in two years when they can release Dak.

For me, yes. You are going to eat something regardless of when & if i can get out quicker I do so.
Its a terrible mess when there is no confidence in your most important player and you are financially tied to him.
I firmly believe when you know you have to move on, you have to start taking steps even though they may be painful.
A few meaningless regular season games over the next few seasons is a small price to pay to reset the board.
No guarantee you will find your answer but you have to take your shots.
How many of the 14 penalties did Dak commit? The 6 pre snap penalties? Did Dak get a defensive holding call in the waning minutes yards behind the play? Did Dak build a game plan that excluded the team’s best running back? Was Dak running that clock management at the end of 3Q and the moronic fake punt sequence? That Dak? How about the holding calls, did Dak do those? Was Dak supposed to stop the Niners running game or Samuel? Is Dak supposed to play QB and block for himself too? What about the losing country club culture that has festered for decades here, that Dak too?23-7 - the score entering the 4th quarter
27.1. Daks QBR for game
1-3. Dak's career playoff record
We can blame MM.....the refs......bottom line is that Dak didn't deliver. The players play the game and no cowboy was more underwhelming than Dak Prescott. He could not get the offense moving until SF was basically in a prevent defense.
Its on to season 7 for Dak. I hope this performance will linger in our collective memories so we can have fewer arguments next season over who this guy is. He is gutless and not a big game QB. He pads his stats against bad teams and playing catch-up against prevent defenses.
So next year when he torches the Giants for 500 yards and 8 TDs, anyone who starts posting about how great he is should be automatically considered a buffoon.
5 sacks and 14 QB hits. Dak's fault??? O Line badly needs new blood that can actually play.
What a bunch of crap. Go back and watch the game. Throwing only to guys facing him? What the hell are you watching? No doubt. But some sacks & hits wouldn't happen if he was playing at an NFL level.
He's the only QB I can remember that 95% of his throws are to receivers who are completely square up facing him. Unless forced, he won't throw unless the guy is facing him & open by a couple yards. That makes it tough on all the other positions.

Dak Derangement Syndrome is a real thing. DDS! You guys need help. Want to blame someone? Blame the idiot GM/owner for fostering a losing culture.
Sure you do. I am sure Belichick and Saban are in a bidding war for your genius. No need for me to rewatch. I've watched them all & unlike many, I understand what I see.
You mind sharing Power Ball numbers?I wanted to get Mahomes too as I knew he was going to be a star. I’m not because I’m a Tech fan and have seen him his whole career

You guys blaming Dak Prescott for everything are a bunch of clowns. Truly clowns.
