The full court press by pro-NE guys like Mike Florio and Bill Simmons is hilarious to watch. They are acting like they are going over the Nixon tapes.

They won't acknowledge for 1 second that only the NE balls that the 'Deflator' took into the bathroom were way under the limits and the expected range of the Ideal Gas Law. None of the other balls, before, during or after the game lost that much air.

At this point I see a compromise just to make it go away.

Two games suspension is the lowest the NFL can go. Brady wants 0 but doesn't have much of a case.

Brady says he never knew anything about PSI, yet it was Brady and Manning that went to the NFL a few years back asking for a change in the offensive balls.

The NFL should not move an inch.

I agree in principle but the talking heads are putting on the hard sell.

Even BSPN is working hard to give the pro-Brady commentators more time.

My feeling is that if Hardy has to do 4 games then Brady better do 4 games as well. Hardy has the better case but Brady is getting the better PR.

Mike Florio...LOL. Still dead to me.

Peter King is a water carrier for the Pats as well.

I think we can say that at the very least that in this situation that gaseous physics is not an exact science. Whether or not you think deflating the footballs is a big deal, I think we can state that there are reputable and well credentialed scientists on both sides of the argument here because gaseous physics is inexact.

But, what cannot be denied is those texts. They show them planning to do it and Brady paying for them to do it. The video evidence shows McNally breaking protocol by going into the bathroom with the balls by himself after they had been checked by NFL officials. And let's not forget, Robert Kraft had no problem with paying a multi-million dollar fine and losing a draft pick along with firing the 2 equipment guys when this story broke.

So we have evidence of severely underinflated footballs, proof of them conspiring to deflate those footballs and evidence showing exactly how and when the footballs were deflated. Then we have an owner acting right in accordance with somebody that is guilty and trying to cut a deal.

The water carriers for the Patriots are using OJ Simpson juror logic. And they will use a common lawyer trick used when lawyer's know that their client is guilty...attack peripheral issues of the case to try and discredit the NFL but never mention the facts that show they are guilty as the day is new.

Exactly. They are attacking everything except the actual damning evidence.

Kraft's 180 is telling. He really thought his good buddy was going to let Brady walk after he took his punishment.

And McNally lied when questioned about the bathroom stop. When the video evidence came out, the NFL wanted to interview him again about that and the texts but the Patriots made him unavailable to this day for a follow up.

There's an old story about an attorney who has this client that is guilty as sin and the attorney knows it and has a pile of evidence working against his client. He then seeks an older attorney who was infamously known for getting his clients off despite mountains of evidence against them. The young attorney asks "how do you do it?"

The older attorney replies "when you question a witness, make sure to not question them on anything that they are experts on. Instead, question them on something that they are not an expert on. They will inevitably get something wrong as they are not an expert with regards to the question they asked. Then, use that against them. Discredit them for getting something wrong that they are not an expert in and it will discredit the case as a whole.'

As the elderly attorney explained further "if you have a ballistics expert, ask them questions on blood. If you have a blood expert, ask them questions on ballistics.'

We see something similar to this occur in high profile murder cases. Find a mistake made by the people collecting evidence on the scene and use that to discredit the prosecution's case. Sure, the defendant may be guilty as sin, but if some rookie cop didn't use the right DNA collection kit the defense will attack that and make it appear that the prosecution's case does not hold water or at the very least get that "well, if they got that wrong WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE THEY GOT WRONG" logic going thru the jury's head.

Fortunately, I think the NFL understands what the Patriots and Brady are trying to pull probably because they've pulled the same shenanigans as well. There's undoubtedly going to be some 'expert' that will disagree with whatever the Wells Report concluded. This also happens all of the time in court cases. In fact, I watched a TV show one time where they did a mock case where they knew what actually happened and found expert witnesses that completely disagreed on what happened and it was pretty easy to see how it happens. What makes it even worse in this case is that we're talking about football and you'll get people swayed by their fanboy-ism.

In the end, the best proof is in the texts and the video tape. Unfortunately, Patriots water carriers like Simmons, King and Florio will get caught up in the Patriots' strategy of trying to discredit the case by discrediting the peripheral issues.

The NFL is going to make this whole drama come out to look a lot less and they all win. They are all pretty much in on it.

This was never just about Brady and making it about Brady exclusively was the first victory.

It's not about liking the feel of the footballs, it's about it FUMBLES and turnovers.
