The Brandin Cooks trade doesn't solve the problem. It is the problem!

Defense?? If ONLY our defense that year was better, we could have made it to the Super Bowl. Our defense did NOT give Romo one of his best seasons. Romo and our offense did. Did you forget our defense couldn't stop a one legged Rodgers??
I think he literally meant protect the defense & Romo. He just naturally placed Tony in front of AND the defense.

Yeah, he's a 5'10 deep ball threat.:lmao::facepalm:
Evidently you don't watch the games, yes he is a deep ball threat with 4.33 speed and has been throughout this career. 5'10 has nothing to do with it, he has the speed to separate downfield. get a clue

with Cooks tying with four other players for the most deep targets and with Lockett for most deep receptions. Though the Texans still face an uphill climb in 2021, Cooks has made the going a bit easier thanks to his effectiveness when it comes to making big plays.

It’s not 12 mil a year for starters
it was at first one year basically guaranteed at 12mil but they redid it not so only cap hit at 6..but still would owe something next year if hes here or cut ie dead money but a heck of deal and then all this cap finagling has been rock solid so far this offseason. most here claim the narrative jerry and sj never get the better end of deals and so far every move in house and in these trades all favor very team friendly deals that help the cap and leaves them more options for more moves if they go after one last bigger FA..

cap massages, DW would approve, might be happy ending lol

I recognize his production in yards but I am more focused on his production in the moments that matter. We've had two years of 49ers let downs. Now a lot of that can be attributed to the QB but the WRs hold some blame as well. Do you really believe that Cooks is the guy to elevate us in those moments? I don’t *shrugs* which means how much do we really improve in this trade? I’m pleased with the draft capital we gave up though.
only played a handful of post season games, but avgd 97 yds

Yeah, I really didn't understand that. What does height have to do w/ being a deep threat? Tyreek Hill is 5-10.

You do realize that the majority of burners who have both pure speed and quickness...
are shorter.

You do realize that, don't you!?

Based on your posting history I suppose I shouldn't assume anything with you.
with the very few exceptions sometimes like TO that dude was freakish built athlete big, cut, strong, and super fast..gold jacket

OBJ played 8 seasons for the Giants, Browns and Rams. He had 531 catches for 7,367 yards and scored 57 touchdowns. He was selected to play in 3 Pro Bowls.

Brandin Cooks has 630 catches for 8,616 yards and 49 TDs since 2014.
And your conclusion?

Throughout last season, many of us were pounding a table for a speed merchant to serve us on offense. Now that we finally have acquired one that should fill that bill nicely, it's not good enough? Lighten up, fellas! The tough customers on this website are eternally discontented. SMH.

There is not one player that "solves the problem" for any team, the closest thing is probably a QB and even that is a stretch.

We really should try to look at this team with a more realistic POV, winning a SB is really a tough task for any organization, just look at Philly with their super team last year, and now is loosing a bunch of pieces left and right. SanFran has had some good teams since their last championship, they have been a though talented team last decade and what do they have to show for? Thats right, zip.

4.33 speed when he was 21? What a joke. He is sooooo good that 4 other teams have sent him packing.

I’m not understanding your position on this. You want to ignore facts and statistics in favor of some notions you have?

Teams trade players for different reason, NO was loaded at WR before he hit FA instead of paying out the money they got 1st and 3rd from the Pats. Cook was very productive in NE, helping them to a SB. Rams made an offer of a 1st and 6th rd pick and again he produced and helped them to a SB but has 2 season with concussion issue which he has not had since that time. Traded to Houston for a 2nd rd pick and produced 2 season of over 1000 yards. You start off with your non sense of he is not a deep ball threat and now talking garbage. You don't like Cook fine your reasons are as lame as you. Bottom line he has produced at a high level regardless of where he has gone.

It looks like a 1 year deal.

Dallas can opt out after 2023.
they restructured his deal, giving him a bonus which is now spread out over 2 years.... he is locked in for 2 years..... which is what they WANTED anyways. As he came they could have opted out after 1 year.
