He's in the minority around here.... LOLA reasonable reaction. It’s refreshing.
I don't think he is a better player. Hopkins hasn't been close to what he was over 2 years ago.To me this is about building a team and doing it smart. Thus far the deals with Gilmore and now with Cook is about getting quality players and doing so on good deals. Stat wise both players are still highly productive players. Fan base is wack, one second they are hollering how cheap Jerry is then turn around and talk about how Jerry overpays. well these deals are good deals for this team with quality players. I don't care if Hopkins is the better player fact is his right belong to the Cards and OBJ? he wants big money longterm deal despite the fact he is coming off 2 ACL in as many years.
Really dude ! You don’t know football with that statement! You’ll have to show me the post that calls him “the second coming of Tyreek Hill”.
But we do have you on record claiming:
“I’m not too sure Cooks is that much better than Noah Brown.”
Ask the Rams and NE if they regret trading for Cooks who was a big part of getting them to the Super Bowl. In the Rams SB, he caught 8 passes for 120 yards from Jared Goff while the rest of the offense did almost nothing. Teams have paid him big money on back loaded contracts. He has delivered everywhere he’s been, but traded before crippling the salary cap. We got a great deal for one year. I have no doubt he will produce again. Then it will be up to Dallas to restructure an extension or trade him again. When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.
Saints, Pats, Rams, Texans, and now the Cowboys. A lot of folks on here are caught up by a name they recognize and a player some wanted during the season, last year. And I'll be the first to admit that Brandin Cooks is a NICE player, he isn't what this team needs.
This team needs an offensive weapon. A "game wrecker" of sorts. Not another nice WR that will fight for number 2 touches in our offense.
It points to the obvious blind spot in the front office that most of here can see but some are blinded too as well.
IMO settling for anything short of DHop or OBJ is just that. Settling.
Lol like next years 5th and the year after’s 6th is a crippling price.ESPN Radio this AM - 2 of 3 hosts said DALLAS made mistake not signing Thielen and OBJ went both were free.
Plus 12 m a year is a lot for Cooks.
people want their own ideas / picks to be put in play. anything short of that is failure to them. Our board is sick. There is a plague of people who are so intensely negative that it poisons the entire culture here.
Shame on you, especially the ones who just do it for “sport”.
I see why benched lolWhen Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.

It’s not 12 mil a year for startersESPN Radio this AM - 2 of 3 hosts said DALLAS made mistake not signing Thielen and OBJ went both were free.

you started that..its been said and ill choose relevancy lOLNo need to dig deeper, that's not this thread nor relevant to the conversation. I said two sentences about Dak having a bad game, one of them giving the guy props for the Tampa game, and you're going back to 2016 to defend the guy for some reason. There is no need to, I'm not here to bash Dak. The guy played one of the best games of his career against Tampa and had a dud the following week. You can justify why all day long, and in several aspects you're correct, but it's not relevant to the conversation.
Yes, but w/ Cooks we still have our 2nd round pick!!!I’m ok with the Cooks trade. Value wise it’s a good trade. But I was really hoping for Hopkins.
Sounds good man. Take the W here if you want, you started that..its been said and ill choose relevancy lOL
That is a huge difference, too. Good point. That’s the point of not getting Hopkins. The team will very likely get a starter at their second round pick.Yes, but w/ Cooks we still have our 2nd round pick!!!
It is if you need it to be.It’s not 12 mil a year for starters
Agreed, I don't know why Hopkins or OBJ are so coveted. Sure they were number 1s, but are they still 1s at this point? We really don't know because of all the time they missed the last couple of years.I am not sure why people keep acting like OBJ is this upper tier, elite WR still. Or that we should question Cooks on his 5th team in 9 years but somehow OBJ bouncing around like a fool isn't equally perplexing/questionable.
That is not a bad percentage considering 3 out of 3 ESPN Hosts are Idiots. . .ESPN Radio this AM - 2 of 3 hosts said DALLAS made mistake not signing Thielen and OBJ went both were free.

This is a Buzz Kill for me. Up until now I have been all in for Cooks . . . but after seeing His success rate on Comeback and Curls got me thinking He will be of no value to Dak . . .
That was a Garrett/Moore thing which is why McCarthy is bringing in more of his offense. This is a Buzz Kill for me. Up until now I have been all in for Cooks . . . but after seeing His success rate on Comeback and Curls got me thinking He will be of no value to Dak . . .
