I don't think he is a better player. Hopkins hasn't been close to what he was over 2 years ago.

Meanwhile...Cooks is 2nd in the NFL for over 20 yard catches over the last 5 years....2nd only to Tyreke Hill.

Same with over 40 yard catches since 2014.

This is exactly what we needed.

In the Rams SB, he caught 8 passes for 120 yards from Jared Goff while the rest of the offense did almost nothing. Teams have paid him big money on back loaded contracts. He has delivered everywhere he’s been, but traded before crippling the salary cap. We got a great deal for one year. I have no doubt he will produce again. Then it will be up to Dallas to restructure an extension or trade him again.

Plus 12 m a year is a lot for Cooks.

Lol like next years 5th and the year after’s 6th is a crippling price.

Plus, Cooks is better than OBJ and way better than Thielen.

Much better than the Giants spending a 3rd for Waller who can no longer stay healthy. A 3rd is a much higher cost for much less of a player.

That is a huge difference, too. Good point. That’s the point of not getting Hopkins. The team will very likely get a starter at their second round pick.

Maybe Gibbs at RB… maybe Ika at DT… maybe LaPorta at TE.

That 2nd round pick is a valuable commodity. I’d much rather have Cooks and the second than have Hopkins and no second. Much.

Agreed, I don't know why Hopkins or OBJ are so coveted. Sure they were number 1s, but are they still 1s at this point? We really don't know because of all the time they missed the last couple of years.

That was a Garrett/Moore thing which is why McCarthy is bringing in more of his offense.
